Libra was a 15-year-old pooch from Florida. A photo shows that she puts her nose out of the car window to smell the air and there is a smile on her face. The photo went viral on social media after Libra’s owner said that they took the old dog for the last ride as she was ready to go.

Libra’s owner said as the poor pup was so sick that she lost the ability to control her bladder. Thus they had to end her life.

“She was about 15 years old and I’ve had her since I was a kid,” said the owner. “She started getting very sick. Libra was ready to go, so we helped her. She was so peaceful and happy and the picture makes me feel better about not having her around anymore.”

As heartbreaking as this photo is, seeing Libra so clearly happy also reminds us about giving our pets as much love as we can, because they can only stay with us for more than 10 years.

I hope when the owner is in her 60's and is buying her third box of Depends that week her children remember this moment in time and say "Come on mom, lets go for a car ride and you can sit by the open window". Hopefully there were many many many more health issues then just bladder incontinence for the doggie.
