Guy Spots Two Cars Taking Up Multiple Spaces So Nobody Parks Next To Them, Finds A Satisfying Way To Get His Point Across

When it comes to how other people park their cars, you can seriously start doubting that there’s any hope for humanity left after all you’ve seen with your own two eyes. The future’s bleak if so many folks are so self-centered. Parking lines are drawn for a reason, people! Use them.

Redditor u/Jack932008, from the UK, shared a tale of ‘petty revenge’ that got quite a bit of attention online. He spotted a couple of cars in his local supermarket’s parking lot that’d been parked across two spots. That’s a jerk move, right? Most of us have witnessed it before.

Though the vast majority of us would mumble and bumble about impolite parking habits without doing anything, the author of the post took action. He actually parked his small vehicle in between the two cars with barely an inch to spare. It was absolutely hilarious to read about the reaction of the shoppers once they walked out of the store.

A Brit drove his car (black) in between two vehicles that were parked across two spaces, to teach the entitled drivers a lesson

Here’s how everything went down

Some redditors had a hard time believing that the story was real. Others had a tad of trouble imagining exactly what happened. Luckily, redditor u/Jack932008 was more than happy to help out with the details of what happened in that Nottingham parking lot. He also shared a photo of what the end result looked like. It’s seriously impressive!

Though, it’s worth asking: how many of you Pandas would have risen to the challenge and done what the OP did? It’s an incredibly risky maneuver that he did and you’ve got to have nerves of steel, not just top-notch driving skills. Not to mention that the risks really do outweigh the potential rewards.

Hopefully, the sloppy parkers learned their lesson and won’t repeat their ‘mistakes’ in the future… but we can never be sure if that lesson will stick.

Some things to keep in mind when parking your car, according to ‘The Parking Spot,’ include making sure you’re not blocking anyone else’s way out of the lot, as well as parking in a visible manner. What’s more, be sure to watch out for pedestrians in the lot and sneaky fire hydrants. Drivers should also avoid slowly following shoppers with their vehicles in order to claim their spot when it gets busy. It’s creepy and just… wrong on so many levels.

As we’ve written on Bored Panda before, entitlement is something that people develop slowly over time. Parents can usually help counter this by teaching their children the importance of humility, generosity, and sharing.

Like in most areas of life, driving a car and parking your vehicle follows one core rule: try not to be a jerk to others. When you don’t stay within the lines, you end up hurting someone else. The way around this is to be more self-aware of your actions. Consider (even if just for a fraction of a moment) the consequences of being selfish.

A fantastic way to gauge the impact of your actions is to consider what society would look like if everyone behaved as you did. Would parking like an utter jerk improve everyone’s quality of life? Doubtful.

The world will never ever be a place where free-riders, selfishness, or entitlement doesn’t exist, but it’d be limiting to think that people cannot change for the better or admit to their mistakes. They can and do. And sometimes all it takes is a brazen driver with a tiny car and the guts to wiggle it in between two others.

Handicapped driver here. Often it's impossible to find handicapped parking spots so I am forced to take up two spaces so I can wrangle my wheelchair out of my car without damaging other cars. I would not appreciate this kind of stunt. Life in a wheelchair is tough enough without having to deal with petty drivers.

As long as you have your handicap placard (tag, sticker, whatever), then slack will usually be given. If not, there is no way to know if you're physically handicapped or "personality" handicapped like the op's neighbours.

This is bollocks unless I'm not seeing something obvious. The photo provided is the actual photo, not stock. They're right side drive (you can even see the steering wheel to confirm this),and from the photo it's the blue Skoda in the picture that's very over the lines, the grey car to the left is within their lines (only just, but still within). The black car is the OP of course. We know from his story that the “man of the family” was able to back the Skoda out no problem, they were never going to have a problem as their drivers door was accessible and there was room between the cars to manoeuvre out. So, all the OP has done caused distress to the grey car who was not in the wrong just to get his jollies off. As he himself said, there were plenty of spots. Seriously, this person has either made this up for 15 seconds of fame (done a quick in and out of the spot to get a photo and made up a story without thinking it through), or he’s simply an utter jerk who is too dumb to understand he's affected the wrong person.

I douche parked once but I didn't know it. It was a full parking garage and I parked between two cars. Unbeknownst to me the two cars each took two spots which left me in the middle taking two spots (I honestly didn't see the lines). I came back amd they were gone and saw the parking job I had done along with a parking ticket. To be fair, I was driving a douchie 370z at the time so it was on the nose

As someone with a beater of an SUV (small for an SUV, excellent maneuverability) I would do this too. It would be tricky, but, assuming a space is just big enough, I could get out through my sun roof, open the hatch, close the sun roof, then exit back through the hatch. People need to park better.

I had a 15-year-old beater van, and I did this at the airport. It was over holidays and a truck had parked over the line in a crowded lot. I parked so close to his driver's side that I had to fold in my mirror. There was no way he was getting into that driver's seat. I was only sorry that I wouldn't be there to see the fun. And he could be as mad as he wanted, but he was two feet into the other parking spot. Unfortunately, when I returned from my 10-day trip, he was still there.

What an idiot. It's clear the overparked driver didn't want anyone parked next to them. People have no regard for their own property. Let alone, someone else's. I have dings all down the side of my car because of it. Ive actually caught a lady open her door onto my car and she just tried to walk away. I'm sure I would have scrapped that squeezed in car out of spite. That's why the other driver squeezed in.

In the military one guy with a new car was parking sideways in our not sufficiently large enough parking lot, 3 spaces! He even ignored higher ups telling him to not do that. One day he came out, and he's been totally boxed in so he couldn't even open a door. He thought he had a chance at lunch, but no, they ride with another person. He then thought when we get off shift he'd be ok. Wrong, night shift was in on it to and came in early to swap with the other blockers. He was screwed, but he never did that again.

Bonnet = hood ( ok, I get that hood/ bonnet is similar) Boot = trunk ( nope, in this instance trunk is a better description for function) Door = ? ( what? The Brit’s don’t have a cute name for door?) Apropos nothing why is “bloody” considered a cuss word in the UK? What’s it refer to? And why does one have to contribute to the “profanity jar” when it is uttered?

That's all fine and dandy but I think this is bs and pretty petty. Exactly the problem with the world today. If they did this to me there would be a problem. I purchased a expensive car, went to the store and parked in the lines to come out to some other inconsiderate a$$ that dented my door. The second day a had the vehicle. I'm not rich the car was a lot for me and I take pride in what I have so now I park like that to prevent it. So if you don't like it oh well sorry I offended you I don't care.

Where I live intentionally parking on two available parking spaces can be "rewarded" by a fine of about €69. The same amount a fine would cost if you would double park in a street or when you woud park on the sidewalk.

I parked at the local bakery, well within the lines of my spot. As I'm at the check register this woman comes in freaking out that she can't get into her car and who's Forte is that? Blah, blah, blah. I look out the window and I'm like "You mean the one perfectly parked between the two parking stripes? That would be mine". Well you need to move it. Actually, no I don't. She gets really b****y with me (not a good idea before I've had my pastry) and I just looked at her and said, "Look, it's not my fault you can't park for shi*t, or the fact you're too god damn fat to get back into it. (I mean - she got out, why can't she get back in?). Yeah, not my finest moment, but b***h please - I'm at the register and will be out in maybe 20 seconds.

A couple of spaces along were plenty of open spots? So you did this just to teach the older overweight woman a lesson? That there are lines painted does not mean these parking spots will accommodate everyone shopping there. It's a different story on a full parking lot, but to climb out of your window to teach some unathletic person that you despise their extra needs... I have a feeling your life gives you lots of trouble in situations where most people can simply smile and let others live their lives.

I remember once when I took my compact car to a very busy area near the beach. I was happy to finally find someplace to park legally. After spending a few hours at the beach with my children, we returned to the car to find three slobs in a pickup just inches from my back bumper. The car in front of me had parked in a similar fashion. After inching back and forward about twenty times I made it out. The three slobs then laughed and drove off. So immature.

I think what happened was fine until the end when waiting extra long to make a point in a parked car. Even if it was a call that needed to happen, put it in the hands free mode and drive on. Still like how this went down overall. In some places when you aggravate the situation people do dumb things, lucky this person did not get attacked physically or windows smashed out.

For all commenters confused about measurements, parts of speech, and geography, an inch (measurement / noun) and a centimeter (measurement / noun) are not the same as using inch as a verb, as the original poster correctly did. Look it up and stop embarrassing literate Americans. As for geography, these nouns and the verb are commonly used on both sides of the pond and the world over. YTA. I once parallel parked into the only avail spot on the street at the curb. A few hours later I discovered a mean note left on my window. The cars that had been parked directly in front and behind me had left and a few other cars had come and gone. So it seemed as though I parked randomly without leaving ample space for other cars but that wasn't the case. Imo people who box people in or write notes are idiots. There's picture proof included. Also, OP did mentioned that the driver was plus size so she probably couldn't maneuver herself from passenger's side to the driver's side with ease. As for the other car that left first, the driver was able to get in to back the car up and then his passengers got in.

If they do it at the back of the parking lot I don't mind (unless the lot's full). But if they're anywhere near the front of the store then yeah lessons need to be learned here.

Agreed. My dad has a classic car and often takes a couple spaces, but only in big lots and he parks towards the back.

What a waste of time - it is passive aggressive behavior like this that get people killed. My time is more valuable than trying to make a point that is so trivial. It’s unfortunate that people are not aware of how they allow their need to control over take them. Hopefully, the deinstitutionalized mentally ill can get help.

The one on the right can get in easily. The one on the left can get in from the passenger side. Not hard except for the black car in the middle. (assuming right hand drive cars)

The way the hogs both parked was extra s****y. If it were THAT important they wouldn't be slightly over the line, they would be straddling it evenly on both sides. But we already knew they aren't the brightest.

Sometimes it's not always the cars next to you that take up two spaces but the person that parked & left before you had not parked between the lines properly. It's not always automatically that driver's fault.

I'm constantly losing my s**t with inconsistent asshat drivers blocking dropped curbs, parking on the pavement (sidewalk) where I'm trying to get by with my mobility scooter. I'm no longer able to drive or even afford a car; my partner who is also disabled, can still drive and is definitely eligible for a Blue Badge.

A lot of work just to prove a point. I give him credit for being so flexible. If I had done that, just my luck, the people on both sides would have gotten in their cars and been sure to scrape the entire length of my car. Wouldn't be worth it to me to take that chance. Even with a beater.

Very unlikely. The sensors in modern cars are able to detect any obstruction (such as hands, arms, or even children) and will stop the windows from closing.

OP is not just a classy driver, he uses vocabulary with class, too.

You don't always know the whole story. So mind your own business and find another spot.

Parallel parking on a street, yes, I completely agree. But this was a supermarket carpark with clearly delineated spaces that two people decided to ignore. There was nothing obscuring the lines, they are visible in the photo. These two drivers *chose* to park badly.

There's picture proof included. Also, OP did mentioned that the driver was plus size so she probably couldn't maneuver herself from passenger's side to the driver's side with ease. As for the other car that left first, the driver was able to get in to back the car up and then his passengers got in.
