I have similar pictures of my 3 day old Floof who I held close to my body for weeks, to make sure he wouldn't die after he was abandoned. None of his siblings made it but he did. Can't post it anywhere without getting "boobs" or "tits" or "I want to sleep there" comments unfortunately, but Floof made it, he's healthy, headstrong, sweet, lovable, stubborn, cuddly, obnixious and entitled, lived through a house fire before 6 months of age, pneumonia when he wasn't even a month old,, polyps in his ear when he was barely a year ols and is now 5 years of age, very healthy and still obnoxious. A legion of angels must be watching over him Good to see other kittens getting the same treatment! Floof and I are sending some of the angels over to watch over this kitten too

Just keep doing what you’re doing, and you’ll be just fine. It’s called bonding. We rescued a 5-6 week old, barely 1 lb kitten who was abandoned, all by herself, in our yard. She spent the first two weeks living on my neck in my hair. She’s now a year and a half old, and about the most well-adjusted cat I’ve ever seen. However, I still share the title of Mama Cat with our oldest female cat, Smudgy. I took care of her when she needed it most, and still take care of her, as well as the other cats and the dog, and Smudgy taught her how to be a cat.

I know he's gray, but his face looks so much like Simba, especially with those ears! Otherwise, a name playing off his fur color, like Storm, Cinder, Ash, Slate, or Tempest.

I immediately thought of those interactive toys popular twenty years ago - Furby! My daughter had two, and one was grey like your little guy, and always asleep and snoring, or reluctantly awake with a bad case of "bedhead". But I totally see the "Dobby" resemblance, too.

I think Dobby and Gizmo are overused these days... my friend calls them "default names" because everyone and their brother seems to be naming their companions that, but I think Einstein is very cute, and so is Koala. The name will come to you as you learn more about the baby's personality.

Baby will fill out, believe me. You’ll blink and suddenly have a very large full grown cat. We adopted the runt of a litter, who was half the size of his sisters, and always two steps behind them, developmentally. Jack is now almost seven years old, and weighs a little over 14 lbs. From runt to big boy in the blink of an eye.

Our oldest female cat was already fixed when we adopted her as a six month old kitten, so was never pregnant. However, every kitten/cat adopted since has looked at her as their adoptive Mama. Oddly, even though she has no experience with motherhood, she fell into the role quite easily.

We have three cats (it was four, but the nineteen year old passed a couple months ago) and a dog. All rescues with mystery pasts, I might add. We swear the dog is a cat in a dog suit, and one of the cats is a dog in a cat suit. Amongst other cross-species behavior, Scruffy (the dog) acts like he wishes he could do his business in a litter box, and Smudgy (the cat) would just love being able to do hers outside (like she used to before being rescued). It evens out on paper, but in reality, it’s just weird.

Thank you to everybody who has rescued a beautiful animal. I can't stand the idea that humans cause so much unnecessary suffering to animals. But I'm overjoyed that all these lovely babies have safe and loving homes now.

We rescued our pup yesterday & both me & my husband believe in rescue adoptions. All our pets, except one, has been rescues. They literally make the best family members

I love these lists so much. Every picture is so sweet and wonderful. It's also really important to realize that when you adopt a pet, they nearly always come with baggage and often past trauma. I have had 3 rescue dogs, and they are beautiful and wonderful and I love them more than life. But these pictures definitely only show the happy feel-good part. There's also anxiety and regression and distrust that can take *at least* a year or more to really begin addressing. It's worth every second! But I often wonder how many people see these lists, think it's all rainbows and feel-good moments, adopt a pet, and then return them to the shelter because it can be really hard.

We adopted a beautiful 3 year old Red Heeler yesterday. She's very petite & a bit small for her breed but she is perfect! So calm & smart. She had been with the rescue for 3 months, she was a surrender by owner who didnt say why but just didn't want her. She's knows all basic commands and literally is my husbands shadow now. He has severe Crohns & is house bound due to symptoms & Covid so this is definitely just what he needs...special loving from his new best friend.

These new family members are darling and special. I just worry that too many of the kittens are far too young to be taken from their mothers and siblings. A lot appear to still need to be bottle fed kitten milk replacement, KMR.
