These are my cutaway boat drawings which I began making to share my seagoing experiences and passion for engineering with my son.

This classic fishing boat is working hard with lots of gear in the water – it has hooks, nets, and pots in the water, fishing for multiple species at every depth.
Lobster Boat
A small New England lobster boat in the downeast style, with the skipper measuring the bodies of his catch in order to release the undersized lobster.
Nestor
This is a great ocean liner full of mystery and intrigue.
Gilnetter
This gillnetter is a modern classic: a 32-foot fiberglass Ohima powered by a Caterpillar 3208.
Seiner
It’s a town day, and the crew is going through the net, working in the engine room, and ironing out some issues in the fish hold.
Alaska Tugboat
This is a tug with a Fairbanks Morse direct-reversible ten-cylinder opposed piston engine.
Tugboat
A pushtug on the Willamette river.

I used to adore stuff like this when I was a kid in the old childrens encyclopedias. I loved looking at these many thanks for your hard work
