I've been drawing comics about life as a dad since my son was born three years ago. I use it as a visual journal (that I ultimately want to gift to my kid!), where I try to capture a moment a day.
When I started this journey of parenthood, I had no idea what I was doing. And after three years, I still sort of have no idea what I'm doing...but I do know parenting is as tough as it is rewarding.
So if you're parent, kudos to you! And if you're not a parent, well then tell your mom or dad kudos to them!

Yes - for sure - cuz I see more of the kids when they come to visit and play than I do the parents.
I guess people with no kids don't have names to this guy
There is no telling if they can get it, even if you dont give it to them
Load More Replies...My mother was laughing so hard she was crying when we realized my toddler found her mother's phone and the texts were NOT from an adult. She was just tapping the autocomplete bar like a toddler does, and we all got some insight into the standard conversations mommy has. Absolutely priceless!
Photographic evidence = tiny kid who takes nothing but selfies then puts your phone back and you have a HUNDRED pictures of the kid that are better than the ones you take!
puti it up someplace they can't get it if you can't carry it around or hold it
Try again in 1242 minutes? This is why I don't want to have children...
one time my cousin found my dad's phone and tried to unlock it so many times it reset
with my niece its mostly youtube and cartoon-y songs thats the giveaway
Haha seems likely doesn't it
Load More Replies...I hope all parents will let their kids wear whatever they want most the time, (if it's weather appropriate that is!!) It's such a great way for them to express themselves and be creative. I don't have kids, but I'm an artistic person, and it would be nice if children weren't forced to conform.
Apparently when I was a toddler I insisted on wearing my snowsuit into the mall and I wouldn't take no for an answer. So my parents let me in order for me to learn my lesson the hard way
Load More Replies...I frequently let me daughter go out places in her princess dresses and rainbow heart rain boots, she likes to wear them and I'm not about to limit her self expression .
Haha in the eye of the beholder I guess!
Load More Replies...haha it's not worth the potential consequences!
Load More Replies...They should make those cool beds for adults. We appreciate them way more. ♥ Children go for boxes anyway....
you will have a whoole life to have the bed for yoouself. I'd be ugging my child if I'd had one, until they get old enough!
Load More Replies...Isn't this kind of the parents fault for not making them sleep in their big boy bed?
I can remember being a toddler, and trying to communicate as people failed to understand me much of the time, which was very frustrating! I remember watching a soap opera, and although it was in English I couldn't follow a word of it. I could follow many things my family said tho.
Wow you can remember that far back?! That must be pretty cool
Load More Replies...It is a well established suspicion that there must be more - MUCH more - going on between a toddlers ears.
U see how there are multiple bingo balls going out this means that the baby will wake up multiple times
It seems like vacationing with kids would be more stressful than just staying home.
Vacationing with small children is such a stupid waste of money. They wont remember anything and you'll be stressed out.
True. My mum wants to take my little brothers on vacation to another continent and they are only 4 and 5 years old, to which I told her that she's going to go out of her mind travelling with them, as well as the fact that they won't remember a thing. The first vacation I went on with her was when I was 7, and even at that age, I now hardly remember anything from the trip, almost 10 years later
Load More Replies...I remember getting off a plane in Madrid after traveling for 20hrs from Sydney. My kids, 6 and 8 at the time - just gave up on being helpful. I had to carry both of them, one on each arm, including my backpack. With my wife carrying their bags and her backpack...trying to work where customs was supposed to be.
It's like a wriggly bag of sand that might lick you in the ear without warning.
Load More Replies...Of course varying any of those things is easier because they do not wiggle and twist at the worst possible moments.
haha definitely a correlation with the greys and having a kid...
Load More Replies...It’s because moms sleeping in with toddler and dad gets the bed to himself! :D
so agree, too many people give their toddlers too many options. Sometimes they just need to be told what they want.
Load More Replies...There’s an easy way around this. I have two ASD boys, and had previously worked with special needs children. Instead of allowing them to be overwhelmed with choice, and be (myself) annoyed, I would select 2, and then let them choose. It’s a way to speed things up, but make them feel that the choice was theirs. (worked really well to get fruit in. The only fruit either would eat between 18m and 5 years of age, were bananas. So when they wanted junk, I’d offer banana or apple. They were never going to pick the app,e, but then felt like the banana had been their idea).
I pack very tight, or very loose, so this image, if I was the father, everything I need is a blanket, pillow, food, and a backpack of clothes, but toddlers think they have to bring EVERYTHING, EVEN THE F***ING CRIB
And you're always going to forget something for the toddler...
Load More Replies...Never understood this with my friends...when visiting only for a few hours the came loaded like they were on a two week travel! When my daughter came we never needed more than a small, lightweight backpack! As a newborn we had a Rock-a-Tot too, that’s that!
At least yall get to get on the plane before everyone else so there's that
I would never! I go to adult only resorts, I'm waiting for adult only airplanes so I don't have to listen to that BS for hours and hours.
I was sleeping with my sis with her toddler btw us and he suddenly woke up and said "wanna sleep with mommy " and fell *oomph* right into my chest...my sis was too tired to care and we just let him sleep like that. He woke up in the morning and he realized i wasn't mommy and kicked me in the face as he got up and left
In Germany some blocks from the 1970ies have trash rooms, usually the room where the rubbish chute is.
Load More Replies...And I love how the toddler's handwriting is neater than mine 😢
Load More Replies...It's hard isn't it? My daughter is now 20 but when she was little it was very challenging - she didn't like a lot of stuff. Hang in there :)
Load More Replies...so, what about letting it eat while you eat? babys not gonna die from one lost meal.
They eat eventually. Just don't pander to their desire for unhealthy food. Fresh nourishing and at regular meal times works well
I hate to say it but I don't remember ever having a problem this way. ..you not hungry ...? great no food. never had a problem after that...
She's teasing him that he does everything his son commands.
Load More Replies...Yep..I agree. Coffee is a food group all on it's own. Why do you think there are so many different flavors of creamers....
I had my child three years ago and my mom told me to never have her sleep in my bed, because she'd get used to it and then it'd be so difficult to get her to sleep in her own bed. Let me tell you, I regret listening. A lot of times I wish my daughter would want to sleep in my bed with me. I work all day, and she goes to sleep early at night so I barely see her :( cuddles at night would be nice. But she's so used to sleeping in her own bed, she doesn't ever want to sleep in mine. Trust me OP, you're lucky!
I once vowed never to co-sleep. But then after my elder one was 1 year old we sometimes slept with her, which lead to regular co-sleeping. And I'm surprised that it's one of my most treasured parent-child moments!
When I was at this age, I loved back scratches more than when my mom carried me.
Kids get to an age where they don't let you do anything for them. They think they're big and want to do it all by themselves!
Load More Replies...Someone's going to have to explain the whole white cane thing to me on this one!
I think he is putting his shoes on? Because in the 3rd box his shoes weren't on and in the 4th box his left shoe is partially on. I guess the cane is helping him put on shoes?
Load More Replies...My 2 yo kid "fighting" with me to put his own diaper, after I convinced him that I don't need his help to clean his caca . Takes 2 minutes without his "help" or 30 minutes with "help". Nice phase though. They learn a lot.
Though I have zero desire to have any children of my own, I think these were very cute and applaud anyone who decides to take on having kids!
