Her owner’s daughter brought her to us, hoping we could help her find a new beginning,” he explained.

It quickly became apparent that the animal had been deeply loved throughout her life. “It was obvious that Pumpkin had been deeply loved. Unfortunately, some of that love seems to have come in the form of extra treats and meals,” Seelbach said. “Now our job is helping this cat understand that she can still be loved just as much while living a healthier life.”

She spent years being thoroughly spoiled and believes every meal should be bigger than the last,” Seelbach joked. “If the cat were answering this question herself, she’d probably tell you the biggest challenge has been living with people who are apparently determined to starve her. We strongly disagree with that assessment.”

Despite Pumpkin’s opinion on portion sizes, her caregivers remain committed to helping her reach a healthier weight through gradual changes, proper veterinary care, and plenty of love along the way.
