The swastika was used in Hinduism and Buddhism for centuries to denote positivity. I've always wondered why the Nazis took the symbol and it's sad that it is seen in such a negative light now because of its use over a 10 year period in Germany.

Having worked at Barnes & Noble and being an Atheist, I would just be annoyed. Not because he put them in fiction, they should be in mythology actually, but because its just a lot of extra work I would have to do on top of everything else.

This one has more comments on it than any of the others. Funny how all the fun comes to a screeching halt as soon as someone criticizes religion (especially the one that's likely to be dominant in the culture of those who frequent this site). The anti-left, anti-Islam people come out and shout "if someone did that to the Quran, you'd call him racist"... blah blah blah. Yeah, what this guy did is juvenile. The Religion section is a legitimate category in a book store for said books. Yes, it makes it annoying for the bookstore and buyers. However, the indignant anger aimed at this guy really stands out, especially in light of how many other juvenile acts are listed in this thread that AREN'T being blasted or taken as offensive. Religion does not deserve special treatment. Not deference. Not eggshell-walking. Religion is not validated by being old (logical fallacy: "appeal to antiquity"), by being culture ("appeal to tradition"), or by number of subscribers ("appeal to consensus").

I love the Bored Panda community until it comes to religion. I love how accepting our little community is here of people of all backgrounds, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and cultures. Why can't we extend that same loving acceptance and courtesy to people of all religions? I love my religion, and it hurts when the Bored Panda community, which I also love, is so unaccepting of it.

You don’t understand what a theory is. Creationism is not a theory. It’s an unsupported hypothesis. A scientific theory is the highest level of evidence there is. Theories are built on substantial evidence. You should read up more on this topic.
