Full disclosure, I’m a ‘90s kid, born and bred. The ‘90s run in my veins and I’m very much a kid of that era! You wouldn’t believe the level of nostalgia I have for the era. It’s utterly ridiculous how much I miss watching Sunday morning cartoons while eating a huge bowl of cereal and playing with my beloved toys. (All at once, of course—I’m a fantastic multitasker when it comes to doing the things that I love.)
I’ve still got a huge box of toys from my childhood that I love to go through from time to time. And I’d be lying if I said I didn’t pop in some batteries to play Mario, Donkey Kong, and Pokémon on my GameBoy Color when I feel like I need a break from ‘The Real World.’ When it rains, when I get the blues—it’s nostalgia time. And a yearning for a more carefree era in my life. However, we here at Bored Panda know that there are lots of you Pandas who are nostalgic for the '70s, '80s, and ‘90s, so we’ve compiled this fun list of the toys you likely played with during that decade. Keep in mind that some of these toys are from even earlier still, but they were still very popular in the '70s, '80s, and '90s. Growing up with them was great!
Oh, and don’t forget to upvote the toys that you loved playing with the most. We’d also love to hear about what your fondest memories and favorite toys were from your childhood, so don’t be shy and drop on by the comment section. Ready to plunge straight into the Land of Nostalgia? Let’s go!

Devs Need To Bring Back True Offline Gaming
Man, this takes me WAYYYY back. I had a bunch of these in the 70's and the 80's and loved them.
Really? Last time I had one of these was last year.
Load More Replies...So when I was about 5 I had a couple of these - one of them was a really detailed underwater one with octopuses and a shipwreck (think kid friendly HP Lovecraft vibes!)...when I got thirsty in the night I used to open it and drink out of it - it didn't seem to bother me that it tasted very, VERY weird. My mother caught me...and lets just say I remember the screaming that ensued pretty vividly!
My family is going to make a game out of this list We're going to upvote for the ones we had and post "GoT" for the ones we still have The one that gets the highest score in Upvotes wins $.19 and the winner in GoT wins $.90 The 90's Toy GaMe has begun😆
This Is One Of My Most Detailed Renditions - St. Basil's Cathedral, Which Took ~30 Hours To Render (Etch A Sketch)
Man, there is nothing easier to entertain kids with. I used to spend HOURS trying to clear all the sand from the screen so I could see inside.
I had one of these, and I never ever managed to produce anything like that! If I had, that would have been it, it would never be used again to preserve my creation. It would have been so much better if there had been some way to make a permanent copy of what you had drawn.
I can't be the only one wondering "How in the Hell?? I was lucky to create/draw a block figure!!"
Let's Go Fishin'
These are still around, bought one for my son a couple of years ago.
Though the newer one sucks. My mom got it for my little cousin when he was small because he loved ours (we have one like above, the old school) and it wasn't as good
Load More Replies...A major sign of development is when kids start timing the fish's mouth opening.
I had one! I couldn't read the package so i just called it "fish tons mayetons"
This isn’t the first time that Bored Panda has tackled the topic of nostalgia (here are two great posts by yours truly if you're feeling any nostalgia for my writing). London-based child and adolescent therapist Kemi Omijeh, who is a member of the BACP, went into detail about nostalgia with me on two previous occasions. She explained that our memories of the past can contribute to our sense of self and well-being.
"The period of time we tend to be nostalgic over are significant moments that stood out. Perhaps it was a time when we felt happiest or safest, or perhaps it’s a period where things changed for us,” she told Bored Panda.
These Bouncy Balls You Got From Quarter Vending Machines And Arcades
i chewed one of the half n half ones and it split.fun times
Load More Replies...I was gonna say the exact same thing! And, unfortunately, taste it as well 😝
Load More Replies...There are still at least 2 of those machines in my city. It costs 20 cents to get something. 1 has bouncy balls (and if you're less fortunate as an adult, some horrid chewing gum balls), the other one has tiny plastic eggs with a toy or plastic jewelery inside. A few times a year I walk past one and if I have a 20 cent coin I always get something out (have been an adult for many many years lol). Edit: and leave a coin in it of course, so the next kid passing and trying the machine will feel ever so lucky. If you ever pass one of these machines and have a coin it takes please put it in there
20 cent coin? Where r u from? The part of leaving a coin for the next kid is genius, imma do this.
Load More Replies...There were a craft kit- you could make your own bouncyballs. I loved that gift. Probably was full of toxic chemicals in retrospect.
Omg i remember. I bought my daughter the one that makes rubber bugs too. They were toxic but so fun lol
Load More Replies...In college, there were guys who bounced them back and forth between buildings, from the eighth floor.
One Of My Favorite "Toys" As A Kid, Fashion Plates
I had one of these, I also used to have paper dolls with paper outfits I could dress them in.
Omg paper dolls! Sometimes they would be on a page of a magazine, bonus!
Load More Replies...I got one as a Hanukkah present when I was 8, and I felt like I’d won the lottery!
I would be so jealous! This toy was my absolute favorite thing I ever had. Paper dolls and the Barbie perfume maker too kept me busy in my room for hours on end.
Load More Replies...Yes, you have plenty of version now, just have a look here Amzn.to/3AYJZjA
Load More Replies...Found My Old View-Master
I was a kid of the 60s and my folks were too poor to give us kids alot of the toys( although I saw and played with many of them in school on rainy recess days. I and my brothers shared Lite Bright,View Master Reels (mostly the ones about animals, countries,I had an Etch A Sketch (but wasn't artistic though),I had a Barbie while my brothers had original GI Joe and the Hulk "dolls".We had tons of board games at home and at school (like Ants in the Pants, Don't Break the Ice, Operation and Don't Spill the Beans)I esp loved A Barrel of Monkeys because they could be played alone or with my brothers and parents. Thank you for bringing back those wonderful times again.
I remember having Sleeping Beauty and Alice in Wonderland. I loved these.
My dad had one as a kid! My grandma has it now, so I've gotten to try it. So cool!
According to therapist Omijeh, what a specific time period means to us is far more important than what age we were during the period of time. "Our memories of the past can change over time depending on how often we revisit and also depending on what is going on for us in the present,” she said.
Omijeh noted that who we were during each decade will change our impressions of the time period. So, while she jokes that “oh course, the ‘90s was better!”, she also notes that she might be biased in this particular case.
My Wife Got Me This For Christmas. She Knew That My Parents Never Got Me One When I Was A Kid. I Love Her So Much (Gameboy)
I once had a Gameboy where I could play Pokemon. I was addicted so my parents seized it. Never saw my dear boy again.
I too was a Pokemon addict (she said, pretending she hasn't actually spent years finding two gameboys, link cable and red and blue games 😅)
Load More Replies...My youngest brother used to really be into game boys. The only game I liked was this looney tunes, bugs bunny game.
The original gameboy was released in the US in late 1989. It wasn't really mainstream for another year or two. I think I got mine in '91.
Load More Replies...We still have ours. My parents used to play with them, battling each other on Tetris 😁 I personally have one of the colour Gameboys, although I don't have games for that. Luckily, it also works with b/w games 😁
Lite Brite
And the Portland Stag! (Missing the red nose for its winter set up.)
This killed my fingers, especially with the refilled pegs that just didn't fit the same way. But I remember I had gotten Duck Tails one and another one I can't remember.
Polly Pocket. Ordered It Off Of Ebay And Cried When I Saw It Because The Nostalgia Hit So Hard
I was so jealous of one of my friends, she had like every polly pocket set. I was super excited when I got one for Chrissie one year. I remember it was a shopping centre type theme with a moving elevator.
Oh my God i also had one with an elevator to go up and a slide to go down! it was so cool! I recently found mine, i had four and the one was quite big and i remember it was really expensive and was begging for it!
Load More Replies...This all has me teared up with nostalgia. Every day, more and more, it feels like the world is ending but when I saw some of these the nostalgia gave me a physical reaction.
I miss the ones that were bigger, I used to have SO MANY of them! Now I have the smaller ones again, but I much prefer the bigger ones.
My kid (5) loves these. She plays with my wife's and good new is they are making a come back.
“Generally speaking, the better decade is associated with youth and freedom. Nostalgia also often gives us rose-tinted glasses from which to reflect from. How we reflect on the past decades can play a part in how we engage with the current decade."
Earlier still, Omijeh explained to Bored Panda that we tend to feel nostalgic for those time periods where we felt loved and nurtured. Meanwhile, if we had a difficult childhood, odds are, we won’t have much nostalgia for it.
Spotted This Fisher Price Set Today
For some reason seeing this forgotten gem is giving me a "scent memory", like I can smell the plastic!
ahhh the reason I wanted to be a neo natal nurse was this toy here.....
I use to 'treat' may of my stuffed animals with this fun box!
Wow I had this too! I loved playing doctor, but loved playing vet even more on my dog .
I got this for my 3rd birthday and used it on my teddy bear. I loved it.
I Know No One Cares But I Got A Mimitchi On My Second Try. I Am 33 Years Old And Regret Nothing
I wanted one when I was a kid but they were too expensive for us. Now I can have it as an app and somehow I can't see the appeal anymore
I have the app and it's not the same!! I had one as a kid and was carrying it around was always too worried about my pet! Even waking up to see if he is okay! I dropped it accidentally in the toilet and i never had a new one😢
Load More Replies...I can't believe that these were like $50 when they came out. I wasn't allowed to have one coz they were so expensive. I finally got one when they were reduced to $15 but unfortunately that was after the popularity died down, so I didn't play with it much.
My mom got up at night to feed it, so we could sleep :) such a devotion
My son wanted a Tamagotchi soooo bad. Got him one for Christmas. He was 7 years old and had lost his dad the previous summer. The Tamagotchi he got was a dragon and he named it after his dad. When he woke up the next morning it had died during the night. Needless to say it was not a good Christmas at all that year.
Crayola Stamper Markers
I was so excited when I got a pack of these, trouble is that after a lil while you get bored of them so you start using them like normal textas lol.
I totally forgot these existed and as soon as I saw this pictures all these memories came flooding back 😭
Right!! Seeing these (and the other posts) is making me so unexpectedly happy!
Load More Replies...I still have these for my kids to use while crafting! Sometimes they stamp their hands & arms & call it a tattoo!
I loved these so much, I used to sign my pen pal letters with the lips
Does it bother anyone else's OCD that not all the caps are fully on the markers?
"Nostalgia can also be a good coping strategy for times of low mood and challenges," she said, adding that nostalgia can also start to become a problem if it interferes with our everyday lives, as well as our ability to be present in the current moment.
"If we end up comparing it to our experiences today and feeling like nothing is as good as it was, then this will inevitably affect our mood and our ability to do what we need to do. We can become stuck in our nostalgia; in which case it might be best to seek help from a counseling professional to help you process your past in order to enjoy your present."
In short—nostalgia’s fine… in moderation. Now, if you’ll excuse me, Mario won’t be able to save Princess Peach without my help. Watch out, Bowser! [Beep boop.]
Anybody Remember POGS? Just Found Mine From The 90s
I remember when we used to get tazos in chip packets. My aunty had 3 albums full of them.
My son gave me some when he was maybe five. He's in his thirties now and I still have them, along with a sugar mouse he gave me.
Alf pogs! Remember Alf? He's back...in pog form TLr4uhUp75...8b87f2.jpg
I just found a decent collection of mine from the 90s (I was already in my 20s), and gave it to my 8 year old nephew.
Koosh Balls Are Back At Target
I loved mine but I hated when they got all sticky and gross, then you'd wash them and it made it worse lol
nothing worse than when you'd yo-yo with a strand and the strand would break... but it never stopped you
My husband recently found his from childhood and now our 2 1/2 year old son loves it!
Agree It's widely available. when a toy is good, why change it. and it's now come with very nice colors as well. check it out Amzn.to/3y2E8rU
Load More Replies...Slinky
I could never get them to go down stairs like they show on videos etc. The most I could do was get them tangled lol.
The original ones, like I had in the '60s, were made of steel and bigger than this. They went downstairs brilliantly.
Load More Replies...The original Slinky was metal not plastic. It would slink its way all the way down the stairs. Scared the bejesus out of the cat
My first job was in childcare, and the number of times I had kids bringing me tangled up slinkies asking me to "fix it", I swear. (I did actually work out how to do it, though).
I have gone through an unholy amount of slinkys over the years. Each one never lasted long before I got it tangled though.
Troll Dolls
"I don't want you playing with something that has such bizarre hair!" ~Marge Simpson.
I had soo many trolls! The tiny ones that fit on pencils, the themed ones and a bunch of the "knock off"/not official trolls. I wish I still had them!!
These things go back to the '60s at least. They pop up again every so often.
That's right. Mine is from 1966 😁 esa1-67f74...4-jpeg.jpg
OH thank God, I thought these weren't gonna be on the list, I had TONS of these and the bigger ones with the jewels in their belly button. and pencil toppers I loved them
Squee I still have my belly button gem one, I can remember getting it on my 8th birthday and unwrapping it during breakfast I almost plotzed!
Load More Replies...I found the Look and Find Trolls book online, used but in good condition. I'm not embarrassed to say I spent $45 + shipping on it. That was my childhood. That was one of my favourite books. I also had the Trolls sticker books. You had swag if you had a Troll with the jewel belly button.
When We All Learned To Drive In This Thing
Anyone remember The Green Machine? That was the lamborghini of big wheels...
Load More Replies...People younger than 35 or so might be confused by this one... It's not digital or computerized in ANY way, the track that scrolls past is punched into a plastic ribbon and is projected on the inside of the screen by a meager flashlight bulb.
I'm 40. I Totally had one of these and LOVED IT!!
Load More Replies...I remember the ones that strapped to the headrest of the front seat. No screen, just a wheel and if you were lucky (or unlucky depending upon your point of view) a horn!
omg I forgot about this I had one of these. I remember being home with the chicken pox and playing it pretending I was going somewhere fun lol
OMG yes! We played with one of these on a road trip to CA with our ferret... we had to leave our ferret at the border because we didn't know they're illegal in CA but we went back and got him after 2 days!
Stretch Armstrong With Three Of His Limbs Platted
I had one, until I decided to cut him to see what was inside. Weird goo. Band-Aid din't work on the repair.
Me to but I tasted his insides bahahahaha
Load More Replies...My best friend has one of these, I think it was found at a thrift store!
I had Stretch when I was young I guess I was intrigued with what he was made from So i(from what my MoM told me)cut Stretch open and yep you guessed it i supposedly took a taste of Stretch spit it out and said it tasted like Silly Putty So I guess I tasted Silly Putty to
An a-hole neighbor kid swung and hit me with one. That thing really packs a wallop.
Mouse Trap
Never understood how to actually play the game but did have a lot of fun just building it!
My cousins and siblings and I did the same. I didn't even know it was a game. We just built the parts up and tried to get the marble through.
Load More Replies...Omg I LOVVEDDD this thing!! I was so sad when my grandparents threw it out!
You can get a new from Hasbro today! Amzn.to/2W61iQL

My BFF had a Swatch phone & I was so jealous! But then I got my own line in my bedroom, my family got tired of me always being on the phone.
I begged for a line in my room! My best friend had the clear plastic phone on her own line and I thought she was sooo "big time"

Magic Ball And Mitt Game
I had these, but the velcro would come un done too easy my dad was constantly trying to glue it back on
I bought my son one of these so we could play together. It only lasted about 10 minutes, and he never played it again 😂😂.
Monster Finger Puppets
Oh god, I remember these monstrosities. What exactly were you supposed to do with them?
A staple of dentist office treasure chest. If you were good for your teeth cleaning, you picked a prize.
I had no idea these were popular, I literally had all of these pictured and thought I was the only one lol
Thrift Store Pick Up. 1978 Simon Game. Package Isn't Great But The Toy Is Like New
I used to spend hours on this and my mum was always amazed at my memory skills. 40 years later and I can barely remember what I did yesterday
I got it recently, because I never had a Simon as a kid and always wanted one.
Load More Replies...I LOVED my Simon. I played with it in regular play, but I also played with it in my grannies front hall retending the hall was a space ship and the Simon was my console 😂
I Forgot I Used To Love These Until I Saw Them In The Store (Flying Gliders)
Found some improved larger ones. Great fun, super durable and easily fixable with super glue when you do break a wing. Unfortunately I don't know how other people manage to paste a picture. Haven't succeeded yet.
Looks a whole lot more like A Japanese Mitsubishi A6M Zero plane than the Spitfire MK1 advertised on the box.
My Mom Still Has My Toys That My 10 Month Old Son Plays With When He Comes Over
Neon Klickers Clackers
There was another kind before these--two larger, very hard acrylic (?) balls on strings. You started by bouncing them against one another and worked up to having them collide at both the top and bottom of the pattern. You could knock yourself out with those, and when they broke, shards flew everywhere. These were tame by comparison!
I loved my set of those... would get them going so fast and knew, eventually, they were going to mash my wrist. They reminded me of the bolas that hunters would use to tangle animals legs.
Load More Replies...We'd get them going so fast and hard and then someone ended up with a bruised finger. They were taken away from me and my siblings as well.
Used to get these almost every year from a showbag we used to get at my dads work Christmas fair.
Mine would appear as Christmas gifts from ppl, then end up "mysteriously" getting misplaced 😆 now I'm a parent I can totally see why they had to go!
Rubber Poppers
And when they would go off, it would scare the c**p out of you😂😂!
Load More Replies...I had one without the hole in it - stuck it to my forehead - had a red mark fit about a week!! I was about 8
I remember the ones with animals and a spring and suction cup arrangement better.
Plastic Tube With Water And Plastic Fish Inside It, If You Try To Squeeze It It Just Rolls Itself
Aren't these called water snakes or something like that.
I got so many of these taken away from me in 9th grade I had my own box in the principals office I'd forgotten all about them til I saw this
These where dangerous in the uk as some had contaminated water in them
My college at the thrift store didn't know what they were when they were brought in, I laughed at her face when I said they were toys.
they sold these at primary school discos - and most of them would be lost by the end of the night
At my school discos slap bands were a huge craze. Those and glitter tattoos
Load More Replies...The Game Of Perfection
Ahh...this game stressed me OUT. Didn't stop me from obsessively playing with it though.
This & Operation probably started many a kid down the path to lifetime anxiety.
Load More Replies...I remember I was with some people who had this and instead of playing this game we pretended it was a bomb about to blow up
You take all the pieces out, push the board in and set the timer. You have 60 seconds to get all the shapes in the right spots before the board pops up and flings the pieces all over the place. It would startle the crap out of me every time!
Load More Replies...GAH!! now I know where my anxiety and perfection come from. Damn you, Milton Bradly!
Skip It
Back in the 70s, mine didn't have a counter. And it was responsible for at least 60% of all my skinned knee incidents.
Silly Putty
You could press it on a comic in the paper and you'd get a copy on the putty. I also found out that it's hard to get out of a shag carpet once you mash it in. That and play dough.
They changed the ink in cartoons and it stopped working. :{
Load More Replies...I always remembered to “Always put silly putty back in its egg or or it will run away!”
Fisher Price Adjustable Skates - Most Fun Ever
I hated those! They never really « rolled ». I just awkwardly walked in them.
I had the version before those when they were metal. They were horrible, lol.
I remember getting these and being so angry!!! I wanted real skates! These weren't real skates! Lol!
Oh! I've got a picture of grandpa teaching me how to skate wearing these.
My first roller skates. I loved these. Hade them when I was about 3 or 4.
No way. I had these. One day I invited my neighbour to play and we had one each. I ended up falling and landed on my wrist and went emergency. Had a cool cast for weeks and was super popular in class after that.
LEGO Ghost From The 90s. Glows In The Dark
About 8-9 years ago I got a Lego haunted house that had glow in the dark ghosts. Awesome set looks like the Addams family house.
Back in the day, I gave one to my brother as a surprise Christmas present. He got the same for me. I've still got mine. My kids play with it, thirty something years later.
McDonald’s Happy-Meal Transformers
Back when the toys were so cool, you'd lie about having kids just to get a happy meal.
1981 Garfield Phone I Have Wanted Since I Was A Kid!! Guess I’m Getting A Landline
Some of them keep on washing ashore in Britanny, since some containers fell in the see in the late '80's...
OMG I need that. i used to have a bugs bunny phone and it was uncomfortable... but cats are the best. MY parents still have a landline. I wonder how much they cost now.
Omg I vaguely remember this. This was so cool. Think I knew someone who had one.
Glittery Sand Lizards
I still have one and I love it and am keeping it forever. I have a tiny butterfly too ♥.
I have several of these too still... Couple of frogs and a snake too.

Play-Doh Fuzzy Pumper Barber And Beauty Shop
What I remember the most about this is the advertisement song and how many xmas adds and magazines were close to xmas
I love the smell of it! But all ended always brown with so many mix on the color. they even have the electric shaver now Amzn.to/2WazLOh
Old School Kinder Surprise Toys
These little collectible figurines were awesome! I had so many. Even on this picture I remember the ones I had.
These are still freaking illegal in the US. It is actually a federal crime to bring a kinder surprise into the US.
Thankfully US have those super safe assault rifles to defend themselves againt those things
Load More Replies...I had best time with those in shower when I was a kid. They had their own waterpark.
View-Master Mickey Look Gift Set
Our very own slide show. These were great, especially when you could buy different viewer discs.
View master rules. I inheritedmine, with tons of reels. For some dark reason, many biblical ones.
$1 Garage Sale Score: Original Super Soaker 50
And when the super soakers that could hold more water and be worn as a backpack came out it was ON in my neighborhood during water fights
My brother and I got in SO MUCH TROUBLE!!! We got ours for Easter and our grandpa let us have a fight in the basement… grandma and mom were PISSED!!! And my brother and I told this story at his funeral… he was an awesome grandpa.
We used to have these, and the cool thing was that a 500ml coke bottle fit them as well, so backpack was full with reserve ammo.
OMG I remember this, but had to get rid of it because it cut our fingers, there was like broken bits of plastic where the pump was or something.
Micro Machines
These are and we're legit. Some of my favorite toys from growing up. I still have some as well as Hot Wheels in the package from the early 90's that were never opened. I especially liked the hot wheels that you could open the doors, hood etc. But my favorite were the ones that the doors rolled and looked crashed.
My brother had this one while I had one pink with those sad dogs and cats(dont remember the name lol)
I had so many of these sets and micro machines, and loved every one. I occasionally find em in old boxes and the aircraft carrier and toolbox set I've got somewhere.
We got my brother this one xmas... had to put all the stickers on, ALL THE STICKERS
Easy Bake Oven
This looks like 80s, the 60s ones looked like actual ovens instead of microwaves.
Load More Replies...It’s unreasonable to expect a child to wait for a lightbulb to cook brownies!

Sorry! Thought you were calling them the rhymes with hicks word! The word that rhymes with winks, shouldn't be censored!
Load More Replies...I laugh when I think of the older models and how 'dangerous' they were. If you don't want your stupid kids burning their fingers off in a real oven then why buy them a miniature oven that's just as hot???!!!!??
Slime
This is again in fashion! Who remembers also this terrible movie with Robin Williams "flabber"?
Flubber. The original with Fred MacMurray was better than the Robin Williams version IMHO. To be fair, it's been years since I've seen either version so it could just be nostalgia talking.
Load More Replies...When I was little, I had a babysitter that would bring slime for my brother and me. We would throw it up to make it stick to the ceiling, and ‘who’s ever fell to the floor first, the winner would take their slime once it fell and throw it at the other person’s face 😆
My mother had cut my fringe twice after I played that... first I sticked it to my forehead, second when I wanted to demonstrated to my father how I stick it before :D
Glitter Magic Wands
We’re mesmerized over these new glitter wands! from kiddos to adults, these are the hot new fidget toy! head over to our Instagram story for a video demo, each wand handmade in the USA.
They were so beautiful! There were caleidoscopes you could insert them, it was mesmerising!
I remember having one as a baton, with silver glitter and shiny, silver ribbons on the end. Also remembering I had a silver, metal baton, with red, rubber ends?? Anyone else??
Well... I did think about doing that... but it was too long
Load More Replies...What they really are is wands you slid into the end of a handle that you then peaked thru at the other end so as to see it as a kaleidoscope. If I knew how to send a pic I would show you.
Cannot Believe I Forgot About My Marbleworks Towers
OMG I always wanted one... I had it at school but never at home. I loved to build stuff.
Furby
Yes! Mine had this nasty habit of turning itself on in the middle of the night but I was too afraid to take out the batteries in case that made it mad xD
Load More Replies...Do not expose it to light, do not let it come in contact with water, and above all, NEVER feed it after midnight.....
I got myself one as an adult in the 90s while we were in Wisconsin. It was in the trunk of the car. While we were driving home we could hear him singing softly to himself. Then we would hear "oooo Daark!" When we went over bumps on the highway it would giggle.
After the third time it turned without batteries we burned in the burning can
Had two, our parrot tore them limb from limb. He hated those things. Picked up two more at a sale still in their boxes. Not coming out
Sky Dancers
there's a hilarious flick on youtube i guess of a super-excited girl trying her sky dancer for the first time and the thing flies right into the burning fireplace lol
That makes me laugh EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. It’s like the toy had a death wish or something the way it beeline into the fireplace.
Load More Replies...Split my eyebrow open with one of those, apparently the first generation of them had rubber foam wings with metal wires to hold the shape. So much blood….
My brother always got in trouble for aiming them at our eyes. But then he aimed perfectly at the glass chandler. My parents BBQed them the next day.
Load More Replies...I had a similar toy but you had to put them into a flower and spin them around until it stopped, and close the flower petal and pull down a leaf and then *swoosh* it flied and spinning around like crazy when it landed.
I cannot tell you how many times these things got stuck in my hair (I had really long hair as a child)
Who Else Had This Toy Sword?
They lasted like 2minutes until they bend and became all floppy right Infront of the shaft...
Blow Pens
Me too! Loved them and feel like I need to find them now!
Load More Replies...You can still get these. They have been my daughter’s absolute favourite toy, hands down, for the past 4 years straight.
they r safer now then they were back then. they redesigned them bc not only kids used them and there were many accidents.

My TMNT 1/6 Scale Collection
I'm a girl but I had totes and totes of these. I LOVED TMNT probably because the movies always came out on my birthday to include the newest one a couple years ago. I also had totes and totes of hotwheels. Now my son collects them. *sigh memories.
I bought good copies for my kids because the originals where sold out and they where desperate to get them. They never knew they where copies.

My mom bought one from a lady that made them w nylon stockings. I did finally get a real one for xmas after my mom said she had to fight w a few women at the toy store to get her hands on one. She had to lay on it. Lol
Load More Replies...Oh yeah I loved the cards. Had my own notebook for my collection the gum was so good too
Load More Replies...My Mom was on a Toys R Us list for when they got a new shipment back when they were popular. They asked if she had specifications like boy/girl/baby/skin tone and my Mother could not care less. Amazingly enough they called her up and it was a red haired girl just like me except different eye color.
I still have my original one. Got her when I wasn't even a year old yet. They were the hottest toy of the year, and my older brother said that it was the only thing he wanted for x-mas. So my poor parents hunted around for them to no avail, when my dad and one of his co-workers heard about a RUMOUR that a store was going to be getting stock of them in. So they both left work early (unheard of for my dad) to nab a couple. How can I get rid of her after all that?! I even still have her original 'adoption' papers!
These first came out in the late 70's or early 80's. Another toy that seems to re-emerge every now and then.
I just bought 4 of them for my granddaughter! I hope she likes them
Brain Quest
Cleaning Out The Garage And... Playskool Color Changing Flashlight

My grandpa had one while my mom was growing up because he loved dogs and my grandma was allergic. We still have it, even though has passed in 2006. Its actually in my room with me.

Totally Hair Barbie
I had this barbie, I remember the outfit being a pain in the a**e to get back on.
I still have my Totally Hair barbie! She's the reason I still have my very long hair 😂
I remember they had a commercial with this barbie in the Malibu dream house (1990 version). Those 15 seconds showed the peak of a culture before we all heard "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and swapped out hairspray for flannel.
Ghostbusters Ghost Trap
I wanted one growing up. Didn't have the money, so we used old Kleenex boxes and string instead.
Any Love For The Game Gear?
Got 6 AA batteries you want to kill in a few hours? Still though, I have the Bart Vs. The Space Mutants stuck in my head to this day.
Ahhh... the good old days - this monster used to gobble up 6 AA batteries in about 3 hours...often running out before you could finish the game! Looked amazing though!
This was way ahead of its time. :) I always wanted to get the TV attachment.
I Had So Many Mighty Beanz

Neodymium Magnet Toys
Very dangerous, if a child tries to swallow more than one; they’ll try to stick together, but if they’re at separate ends of the intestine, that’s BIG trouble! 😨
I have one on my desk right now. I can't bear to take it out of the cube shape - I know it won't ever get back to the same shape!
Load More Replies...I had these. They were useful ghost hunting tools with my friend.

My Cousin Got Me A Nintendo 64 For Christmas
One of the best gaming consoles along with the super Nintendo. I still have mine.
Loved my SNES and Loooooved the game 7th Saga. Only RPG game made where if you advanced to the next side of the map too fast without leveling up enough, you were too weak to fight the new monsters and had to start all over. Definitely an under rated game.
Load More Replies...I shared a Commodore 64 with my cousins who were both boys and always got what they wanted. I had to be the cable adjuster and cartridge holder.
My First Sony Cassette Player Recorder With Microphone
I once got a smack in the face with this one (by my brother) when we were kids. I'm still having troubles with my front theeth due to that smack...

The Vortex Football
Tiger Electronics Handheld Games
Have the Pinball version I would only go so high in score so you could technically beat the game. It ended and played a victory song.

Anyone else who collected Beanie Babies instead of these feel really screwed over?
I worked in a little store in college that sold Beanie Babies and as a gift the owner gave us pretty rare ones, I got the Princess Dianna one. I sold it the same day I got it $200.00. Kinda wish I would have saved it! 😕

Load More Replies...Crash Test Dummies
OMG I had these, I dont know anyone else that did though , loved them :)
I would save up my pennies in one of those giant crayon banks, and when it was filled up I'd spend an evening rolling them up while watching TV. Then I'd spend my rolled up pennies on Crash Test Dummies toys. They were honestly the stupidest idea for a toy. Designed to fall apart into a bunch of tiny pieces. Eventually you just have a couple full figures of unmatching patchwork parts, the spring-loaded limb joints barely holding on. The dog and cat were cute though. Hubcat and Bumper.
Pretty Pretty Princess. I Can Still Smell The Plastic Jewelry
we actually found this exact jewelry box at a thrift store, but 6 y/o me lost most of the parts
OMG I had this. I totally forgot what it was called, but I remember playing with it.
Got My Dear Diary "Really Dating" From 1997 Running Again
I had one similar. My friends and I would always do the compatibility test. You put your name or initials and your birth date followed by another person's and it will tell you how compatible you are by the amount of love hearts lol.
Seeing all of these is really making me realize how lucky I was to have so many toys. This thing was everything when it came out!
Sock'em Boppers Inflatable Boxing Pillows

Toy Traders still sells these. I have a metal one that takes paper or plastic caps.

Make sure it doesn't spew gunge at you. It's like a Hollywood Dilophosaur in that regard.
Atari Jaguar Collection
I loved Pitfall, but my mom would never buy it because she was addicted to playing Breakout
You're Never Too Old (Gi Joe)
When I was little, GI Joe was much bigger--about the right size to date Barbie. He was *much* cooler than Ken--he had a tuxedo AND scuba gear. You never knew what he was going to be wearing when he showed up for their date. Ken never stood a chance.
Oh gawd, this is me now. Reliving my childhood getting the toys I couldnt get when I was a kid.

Anyone Remember The I-Zone Camera? I Think The Film Is Expired Lol
When you realise you bought your children everything , because you had nothing. I always wanted a My Little Pony . I hated Fridays as that was the day you were allowed to bring in toys from home. I still get anxious when I think back to the class knowing I had nothing and still wouldn’t play with me. Horrible times

I have 16 including two 35th anni. dolls, and i'm still collecting!
I wanted one of these sooooooo bad, my aunt signed me up for the catalogues, but we couldn't afford one, so I just got to look 😥 I promised myself that if I had a daughter and she wanted one, I would buy her one and get her matching outfits. Luckily, I did have a daughter and she loved that doll so much!
I loved mine. My mom just found where I had stored it. Something happened to her hair and she needs it replaced. But now they have the store where you can go and they will fix it for you.
