Dear humans,

My name is Clawdia Beauchat and I am a felentrepreneur. With the assistance from my staffer Molly and two of her coworking space friends, I have founded FELINE Magazine, the only fashion magazine by cats, for cats, to give voice to the underrepresented feline population in print and digital media. I’d love your support! Check us out on instagram (@felinemagazine) and check out our website www.felinemag.com. Here is my vision for the venture:

I remember the moment like it was this morning: I was idly chewing on some of my staffer’s bound tree slices because, as usual, my staffer had just finished her night shift and had left me without any activities or substitute staffer with which or with whom to pass the time. As I chewed, I began to examine the top slice (or what we in the business like to call, the cover), with a practically life-size face of an unknown human staring back at me. I noticed the titles around the border, enticing me to venture inside. As I pawed through the “magazine,” my excitement soon wilted into disappointment, and then shriveled to leave me only in despair. All these humans were plastered on the “pages,” without even an indication of their employment status. And where were the felines??

Enraptured by my newfound thirst for knowledge, I fought my crepuscular instincts, skipping several naps, and began poring through all the tree slices I could find. While I was previously irked by the slices’ abundance as they block valuable nap surfaces, I suddenly realized they were my salvation. And could be ours. We have always thought when we invited humans to care for us that it was our divine burden: to be served by a species that will never understand us, a species that can worship us and yet will never truly fulfill our needs as they so yearn to. But what if we are not bound to this fate? What if there was a way to bring an end to this suffering? To resolve the most monumental source of conflict in modern history?

I believe that one day our staff will share food with us equally, that they will open doors wide for our unbridled exploration, that they will finally seek the wisdom in our litter expressions and leave them undisturbed. This is not a magazine; this is a movement. The FELINE movement. A community in which we occupy the “pages.” Where we share best practices about food and fur maintenance, we discover the hidden play in all objects, and we seek to understand our staff so that we may guide them to better serve us. The journey will not be easy, but its rewards are delicious. Join us as we enter a new chapter in our civilization. Become FELINE.
