Illustrator Shows How Disney Princesses Would Look Like If They Lived In 2017, And The Result Is Awesome
In recent years, we've seen quite a few reimagined 'modern' versions of the Disney princesses we grew up loving and admiring. This latest interpretation by Chilean digital artist Fernanda Suarez, however, might be the fairest of them all.
Starting with Snow White back in July, Suarez has gone on to illustrate 7 classic princesses in hip, present-day fashion. These sketched-up smoke shows look like they follow Luxy Hair tutorials on YouTube and shop for clothes at Forever 21. They probably post selfies with their 'princes' on Instagram and all agree that NAKED2 is the best eyeshadow palette. Oh yeah, they probably also campaign non-stop on social media for the equal rights of dwarfs, marine wildlife, and big cat conservation.
Can't find your favourite princess here? Suarez is still working on the series, and is currently taking votes on who she should design next (Rapunzel and Merida are tied for first so far). Scroll down to see the incredible work she's already done, and let us know which modern princess you'd love to grab a venti latte with.

Load More Replies...Pretty, but she looks as if she has had lip fillers and Kardashian contouring makeup....
but this is sadly but exactly the beauty standart of this age ..so it is somehow appropriate don't you think
Load More Replies...Favorite! Although the lips a bit distracting, but I love Pocahontas :)
Wasn't Pocahontas a 12 year old girl when taken from her village and then taken to London and pimped out as an oddity, and that is where she died. This looks nothing like a 12 year old and looks very Asian more than Native American. Oh, I forgot this is Disney.
I forgot to mention that Captain Smith was 46 years old at the time. Good job Disney ignored that one.
Load More Replies...You don't get Botox in your lips lol. And some people (especially many Native American people) have naturally large lips.
Load More Replies...Yeah, she does. A lot of us Native women have those same features.
Load More Replies...I don't know. She doesn't look like she'd take any c**p off the step family. Just can't picture her in the scullery.
If you've ever wondered how your favorite Disney princesses might embrace modern life, you'll love the artistic interpretations by Fernanda Suarez. These fashionable, social media-savvy versions of the beloved characters offer a fresh perspective on their timeless charm.

These are beautiful, and I understand how people can get tired of Disney princesses. Before you complain about "uncreative artists" please understand how the market works. Fanart receives highest ammounts of views, clicks and likes. This is the way to get patreons, a platform that keeps many artist afloat. Original content gets far less attention. This artist also has beautiful original art on her FB, so take a look.
@Meowton Mewsk Like/comments= shares Shares= lots of people seeing your work Which means out of all those people you develop fans, out if all those fans some may be interested in your work, meaning they may purchase your work or hire you, which means money in your pocket, which means you don't have to be a "starving artist" I'm sure were the option available Dali, Rembrant, Picasso, etc... It would have been useful. Plus, it's always nice to know other people enjoy your work. Criticism is ok to, points out things you may have overlooked, or maybe want to go back and alter or consider next time. Your are oversimplifying what the internet can and can't do for artists
Load More Replies...I would have preferred if the artist had at least attempted to capture the true personality of the character and not just generic Kardashian style faces.
I agree, they've all got the exact same b****y/seductive expression on their faces :/
Load More Replies...Enough of the Disney princess re-drawings please. So many seem to be doing it. You have fantastic artistic talent. How about showing us something original.
There's original art on artist's other social media channels. Also she didn't make this post.
Load More Replies...Anything with Disney princesses is a sure success on here! This artist draws what Disney princesses would look like as Pokemons and the result is incredible!
All of them look powerful and determined, without a prince charming around them
And by powerful and determined, you mean that Jasmine looks like a vindictive lunatic, Ariel looks like she wants to hook up with you to make her gangster boyfriend jealous, and Cinderella just walked off the set of Cruel Intentions. Mulan and Poco are the only two that look powerful and determined. When the rest of them come around you know that drama will ensue.
Load More Replies...The only one whose outfit and expression really suited the character was belle and maybe ariel but her eyes are too dark
It looks as if they've all gotten smashed and trying to recoup the next day...
Not sure why these princesses (except the more 'ethnic' ones and Cinderella) look somewhat hipster or off-beat? I get it, hipster is cool and all nowadays, but some variety would have made each individual princess more striking in her own way, not to mention less monotonous.
I can appreciate the quality and technique shown in these fan art subjects. That said "fan art" is both simultaneously killing artist alleys with unoriginal thought, retreads of ideas, and educating the public in all the wrong ways about how one should invest and support an artist.
There are quite a few artist who actually genuinely enjoy making these kind of things.
Load More Replies...Beautiful drawings. But I don't think that the teenagers look like that.
false jasmine would be covered in a burkha and Pocahontas would be obese

I love how all of them exude confidence and charisma! Finally Disney princesses who reflect modern day strong women, instead of the stereotypical good girl in love with a "lady-brain"!
It was just a matter of time before someone came up with a hyper sexualized version of Disney princesses and label that as modern and "awesome". I quote from the article: "They probably post selfies with their 'princes' on Instagram and all agree that NAKED2 is the best eyeshadow palette." NAKED2. This is awesome? Do you know who idolizes Disney princesses? Little 6 year old girls... Give me a break and let's allow kids to remain kids.
I think the art was great BUT.. Pocahontas was only 9 or 10 years old in real life.. a child bride. Even by todays fashion standards.. I don't think this painting quite depicts a 9 year old.
gosh...they are so captivating to an extent you could mistake then for the real teenagers of our time
I can never remember the name Disney gave her, but the one from Sleeping Beauty would be awesome to see.
I've seen other versions of the same idea but these are the best! MORE PLEASE!!!
Why do they all look either angry or sleep deprived? I really like these, but the eyes bother me
It looks like the artist basically thinks that women in 2017 don't get enough sleep. They're just Disney princesses with bags under their eyes.
They're really beautiful, but why do they all have such mean eyes. With the exception of Ariel, they all look like they want to punch somebody. Ariel's got a whole other thing going.
The only one I'd like to see here is Little Red Riding Hood, revisited by Stéphane Levallois, I know she was not a Disney princess but so much more interesting, in fact all these Disney movies were sugar loaded versions of cruel and very sadistic 18th century novels, but this century needs less of it, it sees it in everyday life
Why do they all look a little evil? They pics are beautiful, I agree. Maybe it's because they are made to look sexier than intended??
I love this, the artist is super talented.Just questioning why most of the girls are wearing crop tops?
Mulan is my favourite here <3 I would like to see Tinkerbell (does she count) or Merida
the snow white is like Indonesian female singer named 'RAISA ANDRIANA'
They are originals! If no one told you and the names were changed, how would you know for sure?
Kinda wish they put glasses on at least one of them... Us glasses wearing girls get no love. (And I can't wear contacts or get Lasik.) I hate when I cosplay and someone complains about the glasses Y,Y
I am sorry that anyone complains if you need to wear glasses, that is horrible. You keep positive, if they cannot see through the glasses then their imagination is seriously lacking.
Load More Replies...I absolutely love these illustrations but jees, get some time of the internet and create something new, this is yet another "re-create popular characters " series an i am starting to think you should leave the classics alone before noone remembers the originals
Disney should hire this person and make remakes of all of their classics
I love all their modern edges. Great interpretations of the Disney Princess's.
Fantastic work and amazing interpretations. I greatly hope to see them all! Elsa, Anna, Merida, and Rapunzel are hopefully soon to appear.....
