It goes without saying that beauty queens are, well, beautiful. But as you can see from the pictures below, they're even more beautiful when they're not on the catwalk.
Beauty competitions like Miss World and Miss Universe often require the contestants to wear incredible amounts of makeup and dress in various eye-catching outfits, but we're sure you'll agree that these women look so much better in the photographs taken from their real lives. 1. I think she is beautiful in both photos; 2. The fact she's featured with mud on her face makes her appear as a funny one to hang around with, beauty both inside and outside, providing, of course, she chose that picture herself. (also, that doesn't mean the other girls have not nice personalities, I just had to react to the other comments ♥)

Real life pics are so much better, genuine, sweet, approachable. The contestant photos are in some cases off-putting up-close. Often times, the make-up is meant to be seen from far away while the contestants are on stage. It's the same with any stage-performer. Much heavier than needed but visible from a distance. It's an apples to oranges comparison.

I never 'got' those beauty pageants. It's just actual women, actual people, dressing up in plastic dresses, wearing so much make-up you can make a new face of it and smiling like an alien who observed humans and is trying to do a smile, but never seems to understand what a smile actually is. What's beautiful about that? They don't even look like human beings!

According to me all those photos on the right (real life) were surely used to pass the screening or first stage to enter the competition.
