To each his or hers or their own. People fall in love for lots of reasons and it is completely their private business. (I'm referring to MIL making snide comments about the transgender bridesmaid.) If something happens that you don't like, walk the other way. All that really matters is that people feel loved and accepted. MIL sounds like a nightmare
