I bet that you have never heard of Meteora. Unless you are Greek, of course. Here are a bit of my images from the place – I visited it for the first time when I was 10 years old.

This time, I was determined to make some “WOW” shots – or at least, some passable ones, given the time that I had – less than an hour. Since it is Bored Panda and you are craving to see some amazing images and not read a bunch of pages, I’ll not trouble you with lots of info about what that is, where it is and other stuff.

The main thing you need to know about Meteora is that it is a complex of seven medieval Orthodox Christian monasteries built on top of sandstone pillars located in the middle of mainland Greece.

    All monasteries used to be built using ropes and baskets. Today those are used to bring in supplies.
