8-Month Pregnant Woman Gets Told To Tuck In Her Shirt While At Work, She Maliciously Complies, Sparks People Filing Complaints Against This Policy
Interview With Author“You want me to tuck my shirt in? Sure, boss,” said an 8 month pregnant female employee when her new ‘clueless’ manager requested that she tuck her uniform into her khakis, regardless of an existing exemption for pregnant female workers.
But it’s easier said than done, explained the author of the post, referring to herself and a fellow pregnant co-worker. “By 8 months pregnant you are basically Violet from Willy Wonka with an internal Oompa Loompa kicking you in the bladder every 20 mins,” she stated.
And being compliant workers, the women did as they were asked as they both ‘tucked in our shirts looking absurd.’ As you can imagine, their look most likely crossed the absurdity line and the customer complaints came flooding in. So read the full story below and tell us what you think in the comment section!

Bored Panda reached out to u/zzz0mbiez, the author of this story, who was an 8-months pregnant employee at the time of the incident working for “a certain big box pet store.”
“I’m just as sassy now as then, so I would probably do the same thing now,” the author told us, remembering the incident. She also added that the incident hasn’t made her learn anything “besides reinforcing my sassiness,” she laughed.
“I keep in touch with a few coworkers from that company but don’t keep in touch with most of my coworkers from that time (2011) beyond having them as friends from Facebook. I kept in touch with the other pregnant employee that I mentioned for a while, but over time we both moved and lost contact with each other,” the author said.
And this is what people had to say about the incident
Really, all cashiers should be allowed to have stools to sit on. It's completely ridiculous that they have to stand for an entire shift when there is no real need for it.
I don't think I have been in a supermarket in Europe where they didn't have a chair. And most small shops as well (but sometimes not, it the area behind the register is very small, but then the cashier is not expected to spend all day there.)
Load More Replies...Because in the US they have all the power and can fire you on the spot if you don't do what they say
Load More Replies...Ok, but why is 8 months pregnant woman still working? When exactly are you going on maternity leave?
If this is in the US, I'd say.... about 48 hours prior to giving birth.
Load More Replies...This whole thing just made me incredibly furious. Idk just knowing women, who bare 100% of the responsibility of growing and carrying an infant, can be treated like this. What? You think it's easy growing a human for 9 months? That we shouldn't be allowed to sit. WTF is 'if you can lean, you can clean'. What a prick! And this guy sounds like a collosal a-hole for forcing someone with a pacemaker to wear a magnetic tag just because they were young. You don't know their medical history!
This is why men should have no input at all when it comes to a women's body bc they do not know what they're talking about ever.
I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that clueless manager still complains about how it was the fault of the women (both the pregnant ones and his boss) that got him fired. People as clueless as this never seem to have the self-awareness to realize that they're responsible for what happens to them.
Magnets, even small ones will set an alarm off on my pacemaker if held too close for longer than 5 or 6 seconds. Magnets stop pacemakers/defibrillators from working at all. Mine started beeping at me after I held the bracelet (with a magnetic clasp) I was wearing too close to my pacemaker while I was reading
Honestly, when I was 8 months pregnant, if I'd 'leaned' down to clean, someone would have been having to get a strong person to help me get back up to my feet.
