35 Women Before And After Their Makeup Transformations By Maria Kalashnikova
Everyone likes different things. Especially when it comes to makeup. Some like to wear a lot of bold and extravagant makeup, some like a more natural look. Both and all approaches to makeup are valid. Everyone should be able to wear whatever they want and as much of it as they want. All over the world, expectations for women are really high, so at least we should let them and everyone else look how they want to look.
That's why it's so amazing what makeup artist Maria Kalashnikova does for women. She listens to what they want and transforms these beautiful ladies with makeup. There is no doubt they look stunning without it, but wearing makeup is not about looking more beautiful: it's about looking different, it's about changing up your look to match your style, mood, or event. And it's about having fun and playing with your appearance, creating art on your face and body.

I like the makeovers where she still looks like herself, not a Barbie or Bratz doll. To each their own, especially if it makes them happy though. If she's smiling in the second picture, she was likely happy with the makeover.
Maria is very skilled at using makeup. She manages to bring out the best features in people's faces and make them glow. Maria has clients lined up for special occasions, events or just to pamper themselves. It's very amazing to see the happy and glowing faces of women when the artist is done with them.
What a lovely smile - and such beautiful eyes, with and without makeup.
You can see how much the photo has been retouched. Suddenly her hair is shades lighter now that she has her make up on.
she looks amazing either way, and i love her cute witch/cottagecore style!
There is a stereotype going around that women wear makeup for other people, especially men. Well, the thing is that most women wear it for themselves. Makeup is just part of your look and style. It's still the same person underneath all that makeup. Most women know they don't need it to look beautiful, but they still want to wear it because it's fun. And if some women don't, that's completely ok! Let's try to support and understand each other.
This is one of the best, because she's not loaded with eye makeup. It looks more natural and accents her features without overwhelming them.
She has the same amount on as the others, in a more natural color.
Load More Replies...It's quite ridiculous to hear that women are "catfishing" people by wearing makeup. I mean, isn't it obvious they don't have golden eyelids, bright red lips, or flushed pink cheeks? If you get tricked into thinking that a woman with a full face of makeup actually looks like that all the time, how is that the woman's problem?
I like that she smiled in both pictures. Having the smile in the before helps highlight that makeup only transforms so much. The smile transforms just as much.
So much this! I hate it when they compare a sad-looking person with messy bed hair to the happily smiling and glowing princess (or prince, but it's mostly women as makeup for men is still somewhat stigmatised)
Load More Replies...She was still pretty before the makeup. That's what I call natural beauty
She actually looks beautiful in both. She doesn't need makeup, but it does make her look striking.
This is perfect for a special occasion, or a night out. It isn't overdone, and I LOVE the light gold shadow with her beautiful blue eyes. The eyes aren't overwhelmed by too much makeup, but are enhanced by the lovely shape of the brows, the eyelashes, and the gold shadow. Now, this is the way I would want my granddaughters to look if they wore makeup.

I like how make up is not noticeable here but it does show up her best features.
Yes, that's exactly what I thought, except you say it better than I did!
Load More Replies...She looks very sweet and natural. She didn't need very much makeup to bring out her lovely looks. This is a woman who anyone would recognize if they knew her even with the makeup. She is lovely!
Or how about we let this woman look the way she wants.
Load More Replies...She is beautiful in both pictures. In the second she looks like a movie witch. Really amazing look.
This lovely lady doesn't need near this much makeup to look beautiful. Just curious, I wonder how long would it take a person to put on all this makeup?
The lighting makes a huge difference. The waves in your hair really look nice.
The eye makeup brings out those gorgeous green eyes! I can't tell they are green in the first photo, but the makeup sure brings out the color of the eyes without overwhelming her with tons of eye shadow!, and that is definitely a strong feature on this young woman.
Love how the holographic jacket sets off the eye makeup - wow! Cover of a kids’ retro GAP or something :)
That white streak in the middle, if it's natural is beyond cool. The original photo shows her full off life. The second...does not.
I don't particularly like the eye makeup, she looks beautiful before.
Probably just darker contour around her chin.
Load More Replies...she looks like a whole different person, looks great in both before and after tho
I like the eye lifting effect. I like to do my makeup this way but my skills aren’t as good as this.
So lovely, and such beautiful skin! I wonder, do they do wrinkles?! LOL. I'm 75, and my skin is a bit wrinkled at this stage of the game. I'm not ashamed of them, they are a badge of honor and I deserved every one of them, but I had a gorgeous complexion until I hit 70. I am just wondering if there is a way to lessen the wrinkles with makeup if I have a special occasion to attend.
thats not ok! She's not ugly - she's really pretty and your comment is just rude
Load More Replies...Too much after, looks weird. Better before. Her eyes are softer before. She looks mean after.
Oh wow, the eye shadow colours are like galaxy themed! That is so pretty
I agree! Either way, she is gorgeous, but I can't help but feel that galaxy-colored lipstick would complete the look!
Load More Replies...Nice, she looks 10 years younger, and so happy compared to the first photo.
Amazing how she looks way more self-confident after the spots have been covered!
This is one of the best photos. She looks like a person, not like a mannequin.
Absolutely beautiful eyes, in both photos. Almost other-worldly in the one on the right.
the eye look is really pretty! and she seems so much more confident with the makeup.
it's not just the makeup, the colours have been adjusted in the 'after' photo. checkout her hair colour. nonetheless, still beautiful in both pics.
Her hair was colored (dyed), presumably by the same makeup artist.
Load More Replies...No one “needs” makeup, but everyone can wear it if they do prefer. It’s not about whether you’re naturally pretty or not
Load More Replies...Probably because of the color of the eyeshadow.
Load More Replies...There is a lot more than makeup adding to the look. The colors have been brightened, a lot.
Somehow i like the left more... I guess im not a fan of alot of makeup
With the hair and makeup on the right, she looks like Katniss Everdeen.
Wow, steady on dickhead. Why are you being extremely hostile to someone who's a stranger to you? What does her hair have to do with anything? I bet you were a bully at your school.
Load More Replies...Way to judge a book by it's cover you prejudicial walnut.
Load More Replies...I agree, she's very pretty, and the 'after' photo looks like one that would look absolutely ghastly IRL. Heavy contouring and blush really only ever work in photos.
I think i like the before more. I guess she has a nice skin so putting all this makeup does not help much and gives a but artificial look
I would prefer to see her in realistic makeup. This is makeup designed for Instagram.
same sweater -very different lighting...I wonder what she would look like without make up with the other lighting.
I kinda prefer the before. She's so naturally pretty the makeup makes her look generic.
Very dramatic - I think the foundation is too pale. She is naturally pretty.
I wish I had the skills to create this look and the guts to pull it off!
I don't know if it's the angle, but she looks like a completely different person in the 'after' shot...
Most of these girls/women look far prettier natural. I'm not a fan of this really heavy makeup trend that's the "in" thing at the moment. Some of the more dramatic looks are nice as a statement, but to show some more natural makeup looks wouldve been nice. Some of the after pics dont look like real people anymore and it's sad that women and young girls are striving to keep with this trend because thwyve been conditioned to thinking it's what they need to do to look good. I like makeup, I wear it myself almost every day. But a lot of these are just far too much.
The article is on the topic of Hollywood makeovers. Hollywood. Meaning dramatic. It's in the title.
Load More Replies...Every woman wants to feel beautiful and sexy. Beauty by nature is a pious wish, as well as natural perfection. A beautiful body, woman must take care of physically and mentally. If he wants to have beautiful hair, he must used a quality hairdresser and good cosmetics. Make-up as well as choosing clothes or a type of handbag is part of expressing each woman's feelings and tastes. Just as a woman can't swim in an evening dress and she doesn't go to a company in a swimsuit, so it is with make-up. Each time the make-up will be different, depending on the occasion, feelings and purpose. Being able to do nice make-up is an art and above in the pictures we can see how a woman's makeup, as well as clothes or hair styling, can make her younger, more physical beautiful and sexy. As a man I appreciate the woman's effort to be seductive, it belongs to life. So, great work, I really appreciate the great work of a stylist. It really suits women and they are very beautiful.
Stunning work. I'd love to have it done on me. However, I find almost every single one of these women MARKEDLY prettier before than after - which is a bit strange, since I'm not the kind of person who thinks that people are always prettier the less makeup they're wearing.
Almost all of these women look far more attractive - much more "real"- in the "natural" images. The made-up images look for all the world like clones of a single woman, or plastic inflateable dolls.
Could be a cultural thing, but I prefer the before photos for most of these. Make-up should be subtle and enhance natural features, not completely dominate and change the face.
It would actually be nice to see more middle ground, instead of the "all or nothing" approach with the very unnatural end result.
Load More Replies...All these ladies look beautiful, but honestly, these make overs show exactly what the problem with the Hollywood look is. It's literally a drawing that can be applied to almost any face, a completely artificial beauty standard that even Hollywood stars can only achieve with professional help, lots of time and money. But still women get compared to that standard in daily life, by themselves, men, and other women.
I hope that they were happy with the makeup the artist did for them. It's really uplifting when you do something special for yourself. In the end, it's about what they think and how it makes them feel and to heck with what anyone else thinks.
I fear hiding somebody under make up completely, up to a point where they look like androids, isn't really doing a lot for them. It somewhat gives the impression that the way they normally look somehow isn't acceptable. So, I upvoted the more normal glam ups and the outre ones didn't get an upvote.
