This Planter Turns Your Plants Into Tamagotchi-Like Pets
Here you are, walking home with your new house plant squeezed to your side. You put it down in the most beautiful corner of your home, take a step back and smile to yourself like a new parent looking at its baby with adoration. Then a few weeks go by, the leaves start to turn yellowish, you try to help it with fertilizer, but it just dies on you. We’ve all been there with growing plants just once too many times, right? But hear me out, there’s a solution! There’s this cool invention that can turn any plant of yours into a life-like creature!

‘Lua’ smart planter will turn any plant of yours into a life-like pet

‘Mu Design’ came up with a brilliant idea to help people all over the world keep their indoor plants alive and happy by turning them into Tamagotchi-like pets by giving them a way to communicate via this smart planter.

Using an app to show you how exactly does your plant feel

The only thing you have to do is to connect your phone to the planter by downloading a smart app and scanning a QR code with your planter. You also need to select what kind of plant it is, so you know what exactly does your little friend need at the moment.

Displaying emotions on a LED screen

The screen on the planter is able to show you 15 different emotions expressing plants’ basic needs such as more sunshine or water. It also does a cute squinting face to let you know if the last tropical rain of your creation was a bit too much or if it’s too cold.

A motion sensor allows it to follow movement

It’s so much more fun to take care of your little green pet when it can follow your movements. But be aware not to screw up if you don’t want a grumpy glare!

And interact with the environment as well

The smart invention displays an array of emotions, including a vampire face with its fangs stuck out to let you know it could do with a little bit of sunshine. It will glare off your pet if it tries to sneak up on it as well. Isn’t it just life-like, huh?

It’s not for sale yet, though

The company hopes to ship their products by December 2019, but for now, they have an Indiegogo campaign set up with 30,000€ as their fixed goal, having raised 57% of it thus far. Let’s bid them good luck so we can all turn our green babies into these cute little pets!

Share on FacebookSeems this company has another product, a home monitoring device called Ulo, which has terrible reviews. Not to mention a lot of backers to their Kickstarter campaign didn't even receive the product. The majority of the rest received a non-functional product and no refunds have been made several years later(just check the comments -> https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/vivienmuller/ulo/comments). Doesn't seem very trustworthy.
Ouch. Thanks for that. I'll give this one a miss and see if they ever pop up on retail.

I would buy one- or 5- of these for my mom. She really likes plants, but has killed almost every plant my sister and I have ever given her. We're not sure how she does it. One year I was kinda broke so I started growing flowers a long while before mother's day so I could give her a decent plant, it did well, grew surprisingly fast, seemed very resilient to my husband and I- she killed it within a week. If I could get one if these she could have a nice plant and it would actually stand a chance.
Maybe she overwaters them? Most people are aware that plants die if you don't water them, but I found that only very few are aware that too MUCH water will kill most plants, too.

Please people, buy this. If they sell loads, me and several others might get our refund from their first product, something we backed several years ago on Kickstarter. They keep saying they will pay is when the business takes off... Fu--ers.
Wow. What a fantastically pointless (presumably not cheap) gimmick. Now we can't even look after a houseplant without a techie gadget. The human race is - as we know it - screwed.
It's not pointless though. It monitors your plant's health and is also cute decor
Load More Replies....... That's the whole point. Not all everyone is great at looking after plants and, despite their best efforts, can kill them. This little smart plant pot can help the helpless keep their plants alive. And probably learn more about proper plant care at the same time. Plus, it's adorable.
