Legally Blind Man Shows How He Sees The World By Creating Hypnotizing GIFs
George Redhawk doesn’t let his blindness stop him from creating surreal, morphing GIFs. He began to lose his vision while teaching medicine, including phlebotomy, but the disability forced Redhawk to give up his trade after four years. Suffering from visual distortions created by his mind trying to fill the gaps in his vision, he turned to computer technology to create “The World Through My Eyes” series.
“I was inspired…by a need to express what I am experiencing with my loss of sight,” Redhawk told Bored Panda. “There is a process my mind goes through as I try to discern what I am looking at, a type of morphing and transitioning in my vision as my brain tries to make decisions based upon faulty data being sent by my eyes. It is this process that I try to express with my motion effects. It is designed to challenge, confuse, and in some cases, disturb your visual sense of ‘order.'”

Load More Replies...Being legally blind means that your vision can't be corrected by things like glasses or contact lenses but you might still be able to see general shapes and colors (like looking at everything through heavily frosted glass) or have an extremely limited field of vision (like looking through a pinhole).
Load More Replies...Why none mention that this are not his artworks?! This are stunning works indeed but he only did animations of the existing works of other artists. Shouldn't be mentioned here even the names of each single artist below the pictures!?
I echo all the compliments below -- these are brilliantly conceived and executed. Bravo to the artist.
whether he sees every last spot or nothing at all, his art is amazing because he has a special vision that comes from within. i envy this...
He's legally blind - which means he has very impaired vision. Which is not to be confused with full blindness - which is where you see nothing. This may be a translation of how his near-blindness distorts the world around him. Certainly these images are trippy. So basically the article is saying: Here's this almost-blind dude, and here's his wacky art. That's all they're saying.

Man too lazy to look up what "legally blind" means, and then dismisses anything that doesn't fit his narrow scope of understanding.
