Let's be honest for a moment: weddings can get a little wearying. They seem to go on forever, during which time you're forced to make conversation with relatives you've been avoiding for years and random drunk people who nobody seems to have invited. You yearn to sneak out the back door when nobody is looking, but you don't want to be remembered as that person who left the party early, so you stay, and you wait. And you wait. And you wait. Because that's the polite thing to do.

My 2 year old brother was a part of my wedding party. He sat between my hubby and me during the ceremony, stared up at me and said "Sissy, you are so beautiful". It made me cry. 20 years later I was a part of his wedding party so I walked up to him at the alter and told him he was so handsome, and he cried. I'm so thankful he's my brother.

Poor little people-they are just not made to be at weddings/formal events. Standing still and being quiet for long periods is not their forte.

Dunno who down voted you, but your idea of not allowing kids is great. You'll lose a guest or two for sure but it's still better for both you and the kids. They wouldn't want to come anyway if they have enough sense.
