Diwali is a festive of lights, sweets and fire crackers. India shines bright during diwali with every corner of the country lighting with joy and happiness.Everyone is bursting crackers and celebrating with their friends and

families. All shops are filled with different firecrackers. People who are crazy for crackers buy different type of crackers every time.

Savarkundla was initially name of two different villages called Savar and Kundla. Both these villages used to celebrate diwali with ingoriya and later on Savar and Kundla became one Individual village.

Savarkundla, however is different from any city in India. People living in Savarkundla celebrate this festive of light in a unique way. Their unique way of celebrating diwali starts exactly at 10 pm on the diwali night. Diwali is well known at Savarkundla as Ingoriya. Ingoriya is name of a tree, which can be found in the jungle of Savarkundla. The fruit of Ingoriya is not useful in any

way, thereafter people came up with the idea of using the fruit as a firecracker. First, the fruit is kept for drying and later cracker powder is added inside the fruit. Ingoriya fruit is also at the time insufficient in quality, so people have started using code as well. Code is a thread roll, which is mainly used by the tailors. The same process is followed by kokada as used for Ingoriya fruit.

To watch people celebrate Diwali with live sparkling Ingoriya is a beauty in its own. Today Savar and Kundle have become one village and Kundla is replaced

with Ingoriya, yet the live sparkling firecrackers have been seen every year SavarKundle since the past 30 years now.
