It amazes me how many stores near me are sold out of toilet paper because people think they need to buy enough to last a year. Also it's interesting how people seem to be buying more hand sanitizer than soap, which I don't get because washing your hands is so much more effective.

So, right now I feel like c**p. Several of the people I work with also aren't 100%. Pretty sure it started with one of their kids getting sick and now all of us are iffy. Soooo, I'm home. Have I been tested? No, because as a born and raised American I have no health insurance (if any of you are surprised by that I'd be shocked) and I can't afford to pay a c**p ton of money for them to tell me I'm sick- so I'm home. I've got bad lungs, but I've got extra inhalers. We've got pretty much everything we need at a baseline level (who are all these people who don't have regular supplies of household cleaners at home?? Do they not normally clean???) and we have 2 grocery stores that can deliver things and leave it on the porch if needed. There's literally nothing that panicking does other than raise anxiety- which can LITERALLY reduce your immune system. Panicking could literally kill you. Keep a normal supply of things for like 2 weeks- but who needs enough tp to last a year???

My father is a neutropaenic cancer petient. I.e. he has no immune system. We must all realise why we are being so cautious. It may not be for your health, but for the protection of others. Don't be afraid, but be sensible and be empathetic.

I live in Czech Republic. Here is over 100 people infected and our government declared state of emergency to slow down epidemia. For the next 30 days, but it might take longer. Grocery stores and pharmacies will stay open. But people is already freaking out and panic buying. No one can tell me if I can still go to work tomorrow. It's chaos. And media is no help. I hope that the situation will improve.

Scared about travel restrictions, weddings, Olympics, etc??? You know what? We CAN actually live without them. If he's really a doctor, he'd be thinking first about our health and how to contain the spread of the virus. I've seen people moaning about bands postponing their tours because they've had to drive for 2 hours. Aww, poor you. Look on the bright side, you get to live another day instead. FFS.

People here in my country starts panic buying, face mask, vitamins, disinfectants and food supplies are starting to run out. Long lines of people buying on pharmacies and supermarkets. Everyone here are going paranoid doubting every strangers they encounter. I hate how everything seems to be so over reacting but I can't blame them since I'm also afraid to contract the virus since I have a fragile immune system but what can I do? We people who really need those things are at risk because everyone stockpile on the things that we rely on to fight diseases. Hope this ends soon because elderly and people with compromised immune systems are prone to suffer.

He is clearly not in a Northern Italian hpospital doing triage, if the panic worries him more than the virus. I also disagree on the lack of compassion.. Yes, a crisis like this shows how much of a rotten apple you really are. But in my city, facebook group after facebook group pops up with people offering to do errands and shopping for those in quarantine. We need to do our utmost to stop the virus from reachign our vulnerable. And, ye, that will mean cancelling weddings and graduations. So what? What is more important: a cermony or your grans life? Of corus epeople shoudl not freak otu and do stuüid things. But I think, the lack of fear is what brought Italy into this situation in the first place.

I had to cancel my trip to Italy and rightly so. My trip would have started on the 14th through the 25 of April. I I did buy food to last about 3 months for myself and my dog. Am I panicking? NO: I'm being cautious because if I have to stay in for a specific amount of time, the last thing I want to do is having to go out and buy food or other necessities BECAUSE of people panicking. I rather be prepared now. I told my friends that when this is over (hopefully soon) and if I still have a reasonable amount of food left, we're having a big @$$ BBQ. Just be prepared but don't start running amuck.

This guy is a genius! We need world leaders to be reading this in front of cameras. No one is suggesting this isn't serious and restrictions are needed. But when the hell did mass hysteria EVER fix anything effectively?? Peoples utterly ludicrous behaviour is actually doing more harm than good. Sorry but I am more afraid of the disease than I am with people overreacting. Hoarding is bad, especially of things needed by health professionals, but the disease kills.

Ah, yes don't panic. Like Trump said, don't panic. Then he was roundly lampooned and criticized. Then the media decided to send everyone into a panic. Now the media would like to draw back again and urge you not to panic. Had Obama done the exact same things as Trump, he would have been hailed as an Oak of Calm, reassuring the nation during a time of crisis....And all you Libs know that's true.
