1 in 4 women in Germany are victims of domestic violence. Crazy, right? But most people don’t know these staggering numbers and statistics are hard to relate to. That’s why, using facial recognition software inside one of Berlin’s icons, Terre des Femmes – a local NGO that fights for women’s rights – illustrated this statistics in a very personal way, by applying bruises to women’s faces in one of the four photos they took in the photo booth.
