It was the first trip with my church since I came out. One of the activities for the kids was canoeing. I couldn’t swim and I didn’t want to do it, but they put me in a life jacket and paired me with two older guys. I looked at them for the first time and I was immediately terrified. I’d been bullied mercilessly since coming out, so I was ready to die that day.

These animated stories often (as this particular channel has been shown to do) steal and even flat out make up these stories. If you want to keep using LGBT folks and our struggles as your cheap a*s click bait, at the very least give us the goddamn respect of actually telling real stories.

You realise there are places where coming out can literally get you killed, right? Also, not everyone has understanding family. There are many people living on the streets, because their own parents kiced them out of home.
