I Used My Phone To Make A ‘Famous Painting’ Of My Adopted Dog To Celebrate His Birthday!
It had been exactly one year since I brought Max home from the shelter. The day I adopted him, the shelter staff didn’t know his exact birthday, so I decided then and there: April 16th would be his new beginning.
As his first “birthday” approached, I wanted to do something special. Max had already filled my life with so much joy—chewing my slippers, barking at delivery people, and curling up beside me every night. A store-bought toy or treat didn’t feel like enough. Then, inspiration struck: What if I turned him into a work of art?
I scrolled through my phone, flipping through photos of Max—his head tilted in curiosity, his tongue lolling mid-play, his regal pose on the couch. With a few taps, I opened a photo-editing app and got to work. I gave him the dreamy swirls of Van Gogh’s Starry Night, his wagging tail blending into the starry sky. My favorite was the pop-art version—bright, bold colors that captured his playful energy.
By the time I finished, I had a gallery’s worth of “famous paintings” starring Max. I grinned, imagining his confusion if he could see them.
On his birthday morning, I printed the best ones and taped them around the house. When Max trotted into the kitchen, his nose immediately went to the print of his image on the fridge. He sniffed it, then looked at me, tail wagging.
I hope this is his rebirth and I am ready to love and care for him for the rest of his life!
