I Spent 2 Days Photographing Streets Of Jaipur, India From A Taxi And Here Is The Result

It was a last minute trip: the flights were affordable and I already went through 7 circles of hell to get my visa to India earlier that year (that’s a separate story).

One Friday evening, after getting an email for a deal from a low cost airline, my husband and I hopped on a plane to Jaipur, Rajastan. No plans, no reservations, no prior research.

We ended up hiring a driver for the weekend. We told him: “go around your usual day, take us to places where you eat, pray or shop yourself”.

Most of the photographs below were taken from a passenger seat of that said taxi.

Making of a fresh curry. I don’t know how these guys could tolerate the heat from the fire combined with 40C (104F) outside.

There is a believe that sweeping the floor during the evening brings bad luck – something important might get swept away in the dark. So people start sweeping their floors at around sunrise.
