In the middle of 2014, I decided to move back Xiamen city from Beijing. There is sunshine, sea and blue sky in this southeast island city, except terrible haze.
I went to do the running or mountaineering exercise everyday. Usually the summit of Wulao Mountain behind the Nanputuo temple is my target. I see monks climbing the mountain in the morning or nightfall. They reciting the Buddhism scriptures again and again when they do the climbing. According to the tourists from the outside noisy world, I can tell that monks have much more inner peace.
There is a giant rock on the summit of the mountain. It is not easy to climbing onto the rock unless you do the running approach or find help from others. One day I saw a sweet couple sitting on the rock and I take a photo for them–THEY DO NOT KNOW MY SHOOTING.
It is different between the people on the summit and on the ground. They have different moods and behaviors. They can do many unexpected thing when they are on the summit of a hill. Someone shout, someone cry, and someone just want to take a good sleep on the rock. But nobody knows what dream he has taken.
All begins when I see the young lovers on the rock. I imagine the rock as a giant drama stage: Who will climb onto the stage everyday? What life story do they bring?
