I Illustrated 9 Tear-Jerking Analogies For Dementia, To Support Alzheimer’s Awareness Month
I thought I understood dementia.
One of my grandmas got Alzheimer’s disease in about 2006, and she sadly passed away last year.
I never took the time to properly understand dementia and how it feels to live with the disease.
Last month, I was asked to illustrate these analogies for a project by AllClear Insurance and Dementia Friends. The project really opened my eyes to the reality of dementia and I am incredibly proud to have been a part of it.
So, I wanted to share the analogies for anyone who has been affected by dementia – whether you have it yourself, or care for a loved one who does.

Hi Emma, thanks for the illustrations. I think they'll be helpful to me when I visit my grandma next week. Just wanted to let you know that The Washing Machine analogy text is incomplete.

" Imagine you’re loading this washing machine with woolly jumpers and cardigans. You need to adjust the temperature and select the right program. There’s no “quick wash” option for these clothes. And it’s the same for how we treat those with dementia. By taking the time to understand the “settings” for the individual’s dementia, you can help them to live well for a long time."

I’ve been living with Parkinson’s disease for quite some time, and for years, I struggled to find lasting relief. My husband has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2016 there's a herbal foundation in Cape Town they cured my husband Alzheimer's disease . Pm me i will give their details. People can search about them on Google or youtube (Multivitamin Care ). My husband faced many difficulties and was in several depression, Trouble understanding visual image, aggression ,so many,.
