This is the America you won’t see in the travel brochures. These are photographs of people and place that have been around, have taken a few hits, been bashed and battered and bruised… but are still fighting, still looking for the main chance, still hopeful somehow.

It seems the republic is seeing some bad days. The majority of Americans think the country is headed in the wrong direction. The voices of freedom are in retreat.

Yet as an artist simply responding to the present moment, one finds among the suffering both beauty and courage. Photography is my passion. I aim to use light to create a bit of enlightenment.
