I did something similar to Joey Holz's experiment. I applied to 60 jobs in a few days, I got 23 rejections, only one phone call and no actual interviews. Employers aren't desperate, if they were, then they wouldn't be so picky. The old saying beggars can't be choosers. They're looking for certain kind of people,that's the only explanation I can think of. They can't come right out and say that though, because then they'd get accused of discrimination.
