I am a man and don’t feel safe in Britain at night. Because it is not safe for most at night in this country. Society has been eroded in this country since Thatcher to such a degree that many have identifiable psychological problems...we have been divided by gender, race, age, sexuality, economic status etc. In order to be ruled more effectively and it has dehumanised a generation and people don’t see each other as just human (albeit with lovely differences). We have no police force to speak of, education system defunded, no one has connections to each other. No one knows what is expected of them in society anymore and illegitimate career structures look more enticing due to nepotism and cronyism. The people in charge get away with breaking the law so everyone else thinks it is open season. Everyone has been turned against each other to distract from bad business (not all business) and the ones at the top taking everything. Toxic masculinity is rife, and it is the status quo...

Enoch Powell was a racist; his opposition to anti-discrimination legislation was shameful. And if you think the only danger to women comes from minority populations, you’re wearing blinders.

The United States actually recycles very little since China stopped taking it's trash. Our counties have all these fake recycling procedures to make us feel good about ourselves and then most of it is taken to the dump.

In 2008-09, the banks were bailed out in the incorrect theory that they would lend money to allow business to carry on and prevent the economic collapse of 2009-2014. This proved absurdly unsuccessful, although much of the money was eventually repaid. Eventually, the government spent $4 trillion in asset purchases ("quantitative easing") that made stockholding wildly profitable. This spending resulted in the government holding "assets" so it wasn't "on-budget" even though it amounted to transferring cash from the future to the present in a way that was actually WORSE than debt. This spending was undone by about a trillion from 2017-2019, but was resumed in 2020.

I see this a lot and have to disagree with it. It's grossly exaggerated how parents just throw their kids into the internet. Yes, kids have tablets and smartphones. But for the most part, these too are helpful tools they will need to learn to operate in our increasingly digital world. I grew up with an ancient computer program and learned multiplication and other academic feats waaaay faster than my classmates because it was in the form of computer games, and I'd often feel incentive to play even after my homework was done. There are a lot of dangers (as with any parenting tool/method), but the whole "screen=bad" is overplayed.

The piece is commenting on the unfair societal pressures Britney faced as a teen and young adult. I’m not sure what the current situation is with her survivorship, but the media really tore her apart in the early 2000s making it impossible for her to make anyone happy. She’s too fat, now she’s too thin, she’s a bad mom, now she’s smothering her child, etc.

This is about when she wasn't sick as well. It's what all women face. You're a whore if you show your shoulders you're a prude if you don't. You're too fat. You're too skinny. You don't have sex you're a tease you do have sex you're a s**t. You're a bad mom if you don't breastfeed you're also a bad mom if you don't bottle feed. Britney faced this on a larger scale she couldn't do anything right and it made her have a breakdown which a lot of regular women do too from this push and pull.

The difference is that BLM was not created with the intent of violence. A handful of people with no authority within the BLM movement used it as an excuse to riot and took advantage of mob mentality to get that to spread. It's quite different when the leader of a movement is actively promoting rioting and mob mentality...

Since people thought I was parroting QAnon when I posted how this was all fake news, here is the New York Times spreading the lie, straight from government officials, that the crowds killed a police officer. Note the "new information" is that officer Sicknick was completely unharmed and that his death had no known links to violence at the Capital. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/08/us/brian-sicknick-police-capitol-dies.html Here is footage of the Capital Hill police allowing protestors in the building: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnbtC3R4NxA Now they're spinning it as the police were "complicit," but the point is that they're not trespassers ihttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRIvAqa0hAI No protestors had guns. The only killing was a police officer firing into a crowd. https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/2021/01/08/ashli-babbitt-shooting-video-capitol/ (reported as crowds storming through a broken window. Notice, the window is an interior one and no-one is going in

    Chrissy Dee
    Community Member

One police officer died directly as a result of the insurrectionists. Because there was a large violent mob attacking the police, it's difficult to pinpoint exactly who is responsible. But that does not absolve the mob, it simply means it would be hard to make criminal charges stick against any one individual for the crimes committed that day. Another officer committed suicide within the week. Far more officers had serious injuries resulting from the insurrectionists. Including but not limited to: heart attacks, loss of an eye, loss of fingers, spinal injuries, chemical burns, and stab wounds. That doesn't even take into account the PTSD that many of the officers are dealing with. Everyone saw what happened on January 6th, so please stop with this "fake news" nonsense. The people who stormed that building were absolutely trespassing. There was an attempted insurrection and thank God it was unsuccessful. It's horrifying how quickly some are trying to diminish what happened that day.

Can this blood libel die already? The only guns were held by the government. The government lied about a police officer being killed. Video now shows that the demonstrators were allowed entry by security. The legendary "mobs climbing through windows" consisted of a broken interior window through which no-one passed until a protestor was murdered by a security guard. The congresswoman fearing for her life was in a safe room where no protestors were present.

The prison problem can be solved by creating secure mental heath treatment facilities for the criminally insane, and leaving prisons for the sane criminals. Then there would be enough room in them to return to actually enforcing the law as we should. It is only enforcement of the law which deters crime.

Official drivers: Leilla Lomardi, Williams, Giovanna Amanti, Brabham. Test drivers: Sussie Wolff, Williams. Tatiana Calderón, Alfa Romero. BTW, this can be like the tweet of Burger King in march 8: Woman belong to the kitchen. Mentioning there are more male chefs than woman. maybe woman don't want to be F1 drivers.

I don't think this is a problem. Let the people do the sport they want!

I feel like women might not get as much support, training, and other things that might help them become the drivers. But idk.

Formula one is out of grasp for more that just women. It is a very expensive sport that only a very wealthy few can consider as a career.

Isn't being lightweight like Danica Patrick a huge advantage?

You've got the Force sisters in NASCAR, but I can't think of any women in Formula One.

I think the other problem is. When you invest so much to women. Then they get pregnant. Need to rest or quit their job to take care their kid. I think some coach or owners is just don't want to take that risk. Imagine just a athlete having a injuries is a problem. What's more if women getting a pain every month or getting pregnant. Don't get me wrong i support women and i think they can do more but i believe it is one of the reason why they weren't giving a chance and it became a practice

After Danica Patrick it will probably be awhile. She's lucky she didn't kill anybody in her wreck filled career. No man would have raced that long with that many caused wrecks

Perhaps women (in general) are more risk adverse.

It's unlikely you're that important. They can't keep tabs on hundreds of thousands of random people 'just in case' or because they've nothing better to do.

So want to add people with a biological advantage to womens sports?

I really hate this topic cause I don't know were I stand. A biological man is stronger/faster naturally than a biological woman, giving a trans woman an unfair advantage. This shouldn't prevent them from doing sports, but do we put them with men or women? And making a trans sports would be ridiculous. There is too much to consider, and its too much to give an answer that would be beneficial.

This summer we will (probably) have the Tokyo Summer Olympics. Laurel Hubbard will be competing for New Zealand in weight lifting. She used to compete in weightlifting as Gavin Hubbard. Hubbard set men's junior records in New Zealand in categories: snatch 135 kg, clean & jerk 170 kg, total 300 kg. I can only imagine how the other competitors, women who trained all their lives to get the maximum out of their bodies, feel to go up against someone who grew so much bigger and stronger because of their biology. My problem is some trans women think it's okay to compete against women. Knowing fully they have an advantage and will win. They argue it's unfair for them to not be able to compete with other biological women. When in all reality it is unfair to the biological women. I just don't understand how they don't see that. They know they just don't care and that is just wrong. I'm not trying to upset anyone. Just stating facts and hope trans people realize we aren't shutting them out. We just don't want it to be unfair. Yet I think they like to make it out like we are being prejudice. But that's just not true at all. It's specifically about fairness.

Obviously transgender female is female. There’s no question about that. The big issue is in the winnings and titles etc. A person who came into this world as a male, at birth, will have a distinct strength and cardio advantage over a person born female (hence the reason for gender divided sports). The fastest female born woman will never beat the fastest male born male. Transgender does not hinder the male born gifts. So if your transgender female child who is now female runs track and is not top 10 for her school then no harm no foul. If a male born female is one of the fastest Runners out there, then now it’s a definite issue for fairness. This person if competing in male sports would have a run for their money. But if they run under female they sweep all the prizes without a challenge. The prizes for winning races are a lot of money. That’s where fairness is at question.

So the culture demands that people can choose their gender, and everyone is a awful jerk if they disagree with that. Except for sports. In sports we have to recognize that men can't really be women and women can't really be men. So make up your minds you weirdos. I'm going with basic science.

I know I'm late to this but I'm pretty sure trans people have to have a certain amount of the hormone they're taking to compete against/with people that are their gender. E.g a trans woman has to have a certain amount of estrogen to compete against/with other women

I'm kinda confused at this topic. Because they say. Men and women have a big differences but they want to have an equal rights in sports because they can do what the man can do too??

Are you really that confused? Or are you just not interested in thinking about what "equal rights" really means? Honestly - I'd prefer if they would simply compete against each other, no gender-separation. Make mixed-teams for team-sports, let women battle against men in tennis, hockey, golf.... See where it gets everyone.
