In this scenario, you've discovered a beautiful island large enough for a couple hundred to a couple of thousand people. Everything desirable is on the island, except the rules. Everyone expects you to create the first rule that everyone must follow.

Nobody can bother another person if they are sleeping. (Unless they are gonna die ofc.) I enjoy my beauty sleep, tysm.
No mean people allowed. If my hedgehog brethren catch you bad-mouthing others and being all dramatic about something you shouldn’t have, then congrats. You’re kicked out.

If you make fun of anyone, for ANYthing, ex. Religion, beliefs, sexuality, race, skin disease, glasses, etc.

I’m gonna make the island a free prison, 06:00-20:00 you can can go out and enjoy the island, but 20:00-06:00 you can’t go out and must stay completely quiet in your homes, and I am also a dictator and controls the whole island and own everything and everyone, and I am outside the law
My first rule is to have fun. My second (I'm sorry but I need to add this) is ALWAYS BE KIND NO MATTER WHAT!!!!!!!

Good manners. Say please and thank you when people do things for you. It is so demoralising when you do things day in, day out and it is never even acknowledged.
Say or do something stupid and you will be thrown in the ocean. (Being racist, xenophobic, homophobic or discriminating in general is stupid.)
The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you want them to do unto you. That would be a great place to start.
I would create a nice island of karens and the only rule would be "be nice to each other, honest, and don't steal things" with big punishments. I wonder how long they could survive.
