The "Poltergeist" curse:
Dominique Dunne, who played eldest daughter Dana in the first film, died at age 22 after being strangled by her ex-boyfriend John Thomas Sweeney.
Heather O'Rourke, who played Carol Anne in all three Poltergeist films, died on February 1, 1988, at the age of 12.
Native American "Poltergeist II" star Will Sampson performed an exorcism on the set. He died of malnutrition and postoperative kidney failure at age 53.
Julian Beck, from "Poltergeist II" died of stomach cancer at age 60.
Richard Lawson was aboard USAir Flight 405 when it crashed into Flushing Bay. 27 people were killed. Lawson survived.
2009 Lou Perryman played the small role of Pugsley in the original film. He was 67 years old when a an ex-convict killed him in his own home with an axe.
Most of the makeup in The Wizard of Oz (1939) was extremely toxic. The actor originally cast as the Tin Man had to quit because he was hospitalized for the pure aluminum powder in his lungs. Judy Garland was severely mistreated, as the directors called her 'that fat little pig' behind her back, and forced her to lose a lot of weight. Also, she was s3xually assaulted by some of the male Munckins, and one of them, who was over 40 years old, asked her on a date, even though she was only 16/17 years old when it was filmed. Heartbreaking.
I also heard they used asbestos in the snow. the treatment was horrible :(
Poltergeist, Dawn of the Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and many older horror movies like Frankenstein all use actual human skeletons instead of fake props. They didn’t tell the actress in Poltergeist that she was swimming in a pool with real corpses
In one of the exorcist movies the shaking he'd was hooked up to something that shook quickly. Well apparently the bed shook so hard during one of the retakes that the actors spine fractured. They ended up actually using that take in the actual movie, so the screams of pain are actually real.
