It‘s not really a quirk, but what makes me very happy is that my cat is so talkative. Whenever I call his name, he answers as if he wants to say „yeah, what‘s up?“. He really comments on everything with a different kind of meow and I love it.

When my dog wakes up in the morning, he makes a sound that goes oooohhhh... and then he stretches his paws. It always makes me feel very positive. Its like he's saying '' ahhh.. Nice a new day let's go.. '' .

#6

About two years ago i when i was about to fall asleep my dog reached out her paw and put it ontop of my hand, just for a few minutes and then she turned around and went to sleep. It happend the next day and the day after that. Now it's become our nightly rutine, Just for a few minutes we will hold paw and hand and it's just pure happiness.

I have a 17 month old male cat called Q. He’s a Maine C**n and does have a lot of their usual quirks. He’s heavily bonded to me and my daughter but completely ignores my fiancé and my son! He follows me round like a dog and if I go out, he will wander round the house calling for me until I get home. He’s followed me when I’ve walked to the shop and I’ve even got him harness trained. He’s almost like a dog in his behaviour and I adore him!!!!

I think that’s pretty common with Main Coons, could be wrong, but doglike loyalty is what I’ve heard and seen of them.

I have a little terrier who lets out a contented snort like a pig after you scratch her or let her under the covers.

Also, she sticks her tongue out the side of her mouth when she's excited and wants more attention.

Love you, Millies!

My dog is very particular about his morning breakfast routine. He gets up quite early, so I always go back to bed once he’s fed and been outside. If I do something out of order or give him the wrong treat, he wakes me up again for a do-over.

In my neighborhood there’s a dog named cookie, he’s a lil corgi, but he’s exactly like this, loves to play rough with my Husky, and it’s adorable, he’s trying to do the basic big dog boxing things, while my dog is just laying on the ground gently swatting at him.

I have a total water cat. When I cook or do dishes, she sits in the other sink and plays with the water. If I'm in the shower, she'll sit in the back. If in the tub, she sits by the faucet and bats at the water coming out. Drop an ice cube and she plays hockey with it. She's wired wrong! LOL!

My cat always comes in my room to sleep in the sunshine at around noon. He's so cute and he jumps onto my desk and snoozes until the evening. My horse also likes to rest his teeth on my shoulder. Its not biting he just puts his teeth there when he's stressed out, hes very antsy. Also, when I get on bareback, he knows that its dangerous and turns his head to thee side to make sure I got on safely.

When I was a kid, I had an extreme fear of dogs. If I even saw a golden retriever walking down the street, I would scream and run. I begged my parents not to get a dog, but one day, they brought home Tumnus. He was quiet, calm, and friendly. It didn't take long for him to help me conquer my fears. He was with us for a very long time, until he died just a few months ago. Rest in peace, my friend.

Not my pet but a neighbors pet. My neighbor has two pomeranians named Monster and Cinnabon. She takes them for walks around our apartment complex and while Cinnabon contently walks, tongue out panting, her sibling doesn't go anywhere without a toy in it's mouth. Monster will take a few steps, then whip his head around like his toy has suddenly some to life and he needs to shake it into submission. Another few steps...another shake. I once saw him and said "You show that squirrel who's boss." A few days later, I found dog toy that looked like a squirrel. When I gave it to him, his owner nearly fell over laughing.

My big 100 pound German Shepherd only does this when we're watching something scary, when I get scared, he comes up and lays on top of me and falls asleep. It makes everything less scary and its adorable

My other dog (a pug shih-tzu mix, she's tiny), when I ask her "wanna go downstairs and get some food?" (that exact sentence, nothing else, because i used to ask her that every morning before we go and get breakfast) she will launch herself off whatever she's sitting/laying on and bolt downstairs and howl next to the fridge until i get her something

my first cat (tabby) likes hiding under beds and waiting until someone walks by the bed and she'll launch out and bat at their ankles and grab them and she seems to find it funny if they fall over because they were surprised

my other cat (tortoiseshell) will come watch tv with us and she'll keep headbutting my little dog and my dog will sit there getting annoyed until my cat starts booping her nose and then she'll bark at her and my cat will jump on her

My silver cat, Kuura, does this thing I call 'hitching'. In the old flat I used to live in, she would do this in the kitchen doorway. She'd stand in the doorway, rest her left hip against the door frame and pick up the left hind leg so her paw was an inch or so off the ground. Then she'd stay there for a minute or so, staring into space, her paw just dangling. Then she'd move on, all perfectly normal.
We moved house early last year. Her new spot is the corner of the fridge. She does the same routine: rests her hip, lifts her paw, and stands still for a minute before walking off. Only those specific spots, and always the same paw raised.

I had a lab/beagle mix named Homer, he was the best dog! He would stand with his head down, looking miserable, until he got into his favorite spot - between me and my husband. We'd pull apart to let him in on the cuddles and he'd be beyond happy! We miss him so much! I have health issues, he always knew when I wasn't feeling well. I had to tell him it was ok to go on his walk because he wanted to stay home to guard me.

My dwarf hamster is rather...large. He has a cage with a tube going around the outside, and when he gets hot in his bed, he goes to sleep in his tube and tucks his head in and flattens himself against the bottom of his tube, so his fluff goes through the breathing holes at the bottom, and it looks like he's melted, it just makes me so happy 🥰

My cats are my overlords. They tell me what to do and when.

Had a cat who got me through high school. Paws would be my heater at night and get me out the door. I would always fall asleep after the alarm, so she would meow and walk on me till I woke up. Walk between me and the door till I got up, then the door to the bathroom. Supervised my shower. Made sure I brushed my teeth and grabbed my lunch. Then got me out the door to catch the bus. Miss you baby girl.

One of my current kitties, Renji never lets me forget a meal time. He starts with purring and rubbing his face on my face, then withholds affection. Moves to sit behind me on the back of the couch and when he is really tired of waiting he whacks me in the face with his tail till I get up. He is also a white noise machine, loud purring pressed against my ear all night.

I have three cats. One, Abbie, will lick her right paw and wash her face when we scratch her back just right. So cute.

Sophie is such a gentle soul and so seldom meows, it comes out sounding like a little high pitched chirp.

Gracie meows at me all the time, very talkative. Sometimes I try to mimic her sounds, and this goes on for several minutes. She changes her meows and even pauses, just like a real conversation.

Both Sophie and Gracie, sisters, sleep with me every night, one under each arm. They have to be squished up against me, and if I get up in the night, both will reposition so they're back up next to me. If my husband and I stay up late on weekends or his vacation, Gracie will finally just beg us to go to sleep.

Gracie is the bold sister and when she's asking me for something, Sophie shows up and just sits quietly, waiting to see if Gracie gets anything, so she can too.

I have toast every morning. I save the last bite for Gracie and she licks that bite of toast until it's mushy. Every single day. If she's really upset about something, she cries real tears. They run down her face. I've had cats for over 36 years, and I've never seen anything like this. Breaks my heart. If I scold her, she comes right away to say she's sorry. So smart.

Life just wouldn't be the same without them. Every day is an adventure, and I love them beyond words.
