In those days, it was tradition to have a picture taken on this spot where the statue of former dictator Yaya Jammeh would bless you. Jammeh was toppled a few years ago. My late husband was also named Jammeh because they were both from the Djola tribe. Not related otherwise.

What is wrong with it? If we are going to claim individuality then if she chooses this as an individual, it's perfect for her. Some women are partial to the old ways. Love it! We got married on Halloween! It was a Mandalorian themed wedding! Darth Vader was the officiant, My Mr was Mando and I was a dark Jedi. We had Grogu (RC) deliver our rings.. It was so much fun!

We had a tardis, Mario kart grooms cake with different roads for each layer, a Croquembouche for our wedding cake, Chinese take out boxes full of goodies like vampire teeth, chocolate legos, bookmarks with poems my husband had written printed on them. Everything was linked to memories, first dates, trips, hobbies, books, fandoms and our love for each other. We even went to Disney for our honeymoon and everyone had gifted us Disney gift cards and we had the best stress free time ever. I'll never forget it.

In true Yorkshire style, I wanted to get married in a Flat Cap (our friends & family were horrified by the thought). Rhian Kempadoo Miller created them for us. Phil’s is Yorkshire pinstripe fabric. The blue stripes are actually tiny letters repeatedly spelling out the word Yorkshire. My shoes were hand painted with White Roses (symbol of Yorkshire) and the soles were blue with a white rose in the centre to match the Yorkshire Flag. Phil’s tie, cuff links and my jewellery all had white roses on them too. We didn’t want our outfits to come across as tacky or novelty, so I tried to opt for a simple elegant dress and Phil looked great in his blue suit & shirt. I think we pulled it off. What do you recon?

OP Edit: Hard to see full dress...only pic I have right now of the dress. Was an A-line halter summer dress with a Kimono style twist...front of bust meant to resemble kimono with a sash (obi). There was a beautiful bow in the back. I'm half Japanese, half English, so wanted to represent both cultures, while keeping cool for a summer wedding.
