Some things in this world just should exist in reality. Tell me some things that should be invented! We all need things to make our lives easier!

Proper male birthcontrol
It's called Plan A. They anticipate it being available to the public sometime in 2026. It is a gel injected into the tube that blocks sperm, lasts 10yrs, and is 100% reversible with a simple injection to dissolve the gel.
Turn signals for BMWs
Some kind of alarm inside the car when the driver is driving like a tw@t would be nice.
A home machine that converts single-use, disposable plastic items such as flatware, bottles and packaging into filament for 3D printing.
The problem is that each type of plastic needs to be extruded at a different temperature and rate so the end filament needs to be made of a consistent plastic Making good PLA filament isn't easy (the use of PLA filament for 3D printers was invented here in New Zealand) - it needs to be heated to a consistent temperature and then cooled in a controlled manner otherwise it get brittle. Cheap PLA filament isn't usually pure and contains modifiers. PLA at least is pretty human safe, a lot of filament isn't nice stuff when heated up and as for some random household plastic... There is a lot of effort going into reusing the plastic from failed prints (which is generally the cleanest) but making it into new filament but even that isn't pure any more. I've seen chopped waste filament used for art projects, the plastic is arranged together in an image and heat pressed (see Geeko Farm episode 92) and I've also seen a machine which takes milk bottle lids from sorted household waste and tiles
The Babel Fish implant! Eliminate the language barrier between every human! Talking to and getting to know everyone else becomes possible, realizing like-minded people are all around us moves to the foreground, MANY things get solved quickly.
I was wondering where Iād heard the phrase āBabel fishā before, since it seemed pretty familiar. Then I realized itās from the Hitchhikerās Guide to the Galaxy. Tbh a lot of the fictional ideas in them are great.
Nooooo!! Itās bad enough for us translators as it is at the moment! Translation is my calling, I have studied for years in my specialist area and the industry is already on its knees. It makes me so sad.
if the implant gets hacked you've got a problem, Augmented Reality contacts/glasses would be better
Windscreen Wipers for glasses. Rain is an utter pain š
Got glasses at age 4, wished for these all my life. Got new eyes at age 69. No glasses now.
Resealable bags for cereal bags! I mean, we've got them for everything else but.
Some boxed cereals did have them for a while. The mega bags do have them.
Why not just transfer into your own bags or container? Otherwise you risk adding to the price and pollution.
And it's convenient to just close lid on the container.
Load More Replies...All your comments are great solutions, however, I was just pointing out the lack of resealable bags lead to having to do all that extra. If the were already resealable in the first place, there would be no need to do all that.
A way to turn on the compassion of every human being.
A genuine, functioning lie detector.
That would be great if you could use them on the politicians you contemplated voting for.
I watched the presidential debate, but I didn't hear any of the candidates. Just trucks backing up...
Load More Replies...A way of instantly being able to verify claims made online and identify their origin, and to identify decisions and statements influenced by lobbyists (as well as which ones).
This already exists, albeit in primitive forms. It's called common sense, and when utilized with a modicum of education, can lead the majority of people to see through the ignorant conspiracies and garbage that is so prevalent in the world.
Abolish private schools and properly fund public education. Make voting accessible again.
Load More Replies...-A reverse flashlight. I wanna send someone to the void. -A way to watch our dreams on recording later on. -A way to be invisible. Honestly, the way I see it, if we could just figure out how to bend light waves around us, it could be possible.
On the invisibility thing, be careful what you wish for. Invisibility is cool so long as you're the only one who has it; once other people get their hands on it, it's hella scary.
Hearing aids that are waterproof. Currently I don't believe there are any on the market that you can wear in water, and that's kind of a problem if lifeguards need to get your attention
Oof. I feel u. I accidentally swam twice with my hearing aids. What would be better is clog proof hearing aids. Fortunately, I only have progressive hearing loss, so I can still mostly hear. But the point behind it is plain and simple.
Pockets
If you really wants pockets, learn a little sewing. There are many Youtube videos about how to sew pockets into your existing clothes. It is not as hard as it sounds.
A working fusion reactor would be nice
And it is being worked on, but remember the only one we know about is the sun!
A worldwide system of measurement.
Well, we do have the Metric System - which people in the US normally avoid like Chernobyl
Cherynoble? Idk about that. Have you seeen how many people go to the taco bell bathroom to face the consequences of beans?
Load More Replies...Well, only the US uses Imperial. If they would switch to Metric like the rest of the world, your wish would be immediately granted. š
We already have a worldword system of measurement - it's called the Metric systems (SI). For some reason, the US, Liberia, and Myanmar don't use it. Nice company the US is keep there.
I believe that their is already a term for that. Itās called banyan for scale
Phones with slap buttons. An hand can spring from the phone and slap whoever offended you on the other end.
This feels like something that is wildly open to abuse, but I love the intention behind it.
I feel that resorting to violence is not something we absolutely need.
Or at least the sound of slamming the phone down like we could with the older wired phones.
some sort of artificial genie *this is a thinly veiled disguise to say that i just want a everything-fixer.
Shrink and enlargement rays to be used specifically on cars. Parking is a war where I come from.
Love this idea - it would be super cool to put your car in your pocket.
It doesn't need to be large to be enjoyable, but being smaller in order to fit does come in handy. I had a GF once who couldn't....
More love, abolish hate!
I like your idea, but this already exists. It's called Valid Emotions 'R Us.
A functioning, Star Trek-style replicator.
And while we are at it: not only the replicator, but also the holodeck and beaming.
I'd love it if some genius scientist could breed a snail that ate only weeds.
But what would the poor snails do, when there was only strawberries left in the garden?
Heh, they can starve -- I'll eat the strawberries! :)
Load More Replies...Car alarms ...instead of the car beeping or honking, have the device on your keychain alert you to something amiss with your vehicle.
They've had car alarms that notify your phone available for almost 20 years. My boss at my college job had one on his car. Not exactly a keychain, but that's a really long time for technology - and most people keep their phone closer than their keys (eg who walks around their house with their keys always within reach).
A Time Machine where I could go back and see what really happened historically. Iād want to be invisible though, as to not change history (though I may be tempted!). What was this Jesus person really like? How did the pyramids get built? Iād also like the fast forward option to get through the boring stuff.
I want a butler program running on a house computer with enough processing power to filter the internet. I don't want my refrigerator telling the cloud that my milk is expired, I want it telling the butler program. Program could screen calls and texts and run anti-virus software. Our homes need to be defended, not open to cyberspace. "I'm terribly sorry, my employer is indisposed."
A brain to brain USB transfer, for selected information
I want a way to delete stuff from my ageing brain that I no longer need, to free up room for things like the reason I went upstairs. I can remember a list of products and their numbers that I memorised in 1982...I haven't worked at that company since 1991.
A way to know in advance if my attempt to connect with someone I encounter will result in wading through a seemingly inescapable barrage of uninvited platitudes, disguised self-gaslights masquerading as affirmations, emotional fakery, or inanery.
Quantum Commuting. Think of the time savings!
And the beautiful landscapes possible if we didn't need to cover them with asfalt roads.
A brain implant that increases sleep efficiency. So I sleep for, let's say, 5 hours but I feel like and get the effect of sleeping 8. This is so I can sleep for 8 hours and feel like I slept 11 or so :D
As I understand it, the sleep is a time when you brain is cleansed of stuff, that is not good for it, and I am sure, that it cannot be speeded up without risk of damage to your brain.
Peace
But it has been invented thousands of years ago, it is just not always used.
A system of active camouflage using micro cameras and optical fibres/leds. Cameras pickup light that is transmitted 180 degrees to light emitting optical fibres/leds. Basically showing the background at the front of the object/ person. We already have the ability and the technology to do it.
No stereotypes ever. It is annoying hearing everything about America when it comes to guns even if it is true everyone seems to automatically assume it is America no matter what.
Sorry ment to say like a brain erasing machine for sterotypes.
A machine where you either stand up or lay down. There's a scan that goes through you and can tell what it wrong with you on different levels, then if activated, another scan that repairs whatever you said yes to. Could be for bleeding, lesions, poison ivy, and more serious damages like a bullet, cancer, etc.
That is just an MRI machine with an ai built-in to recognize patterns.
When I wrote this I was thinking of a better MRI machine, like one step up to repair. (like in sci-fi books, LOL)
Load More Replies...A lovely thought. I know of several that have traipsed back and forth to doctors and hospitals before it was clear what was actually wrong. And then again many times more before anything could be done about it.
Some kind of tool to get your sleeve straightened out/unbunched from under your jacket if anyone knows what Iām talking about
An IRL CTRL+Z function.
Also, a ctrlc ctrlv function. U get to copy anyone and anything, including yourself
Some way to use that little sliver of soap after the bar is used up. (My dreams are small...)
My mom pressed it onto the new bar, when they were both wet. It stuck on and was used up that way.
When someone stops their vehicle on the crosswalk at a red light, a sonic beam hits their window and says, "you're blocking the crosswalk you entitled jerk". The sonic beam will produce a sound that is irritating, sets their teeth on edge, drowns out their sound systems and continues until their either unblock the crosswalk or the light is no longer red.
I would like a device which would send idiot drivers to the curb, shut their engines off, and not allow them to start again.
A painless way to shave hair! I hate having to look for other options to try to get rid of my hair- so far I havenāt found any options.
easy way to find the start of tape/toilet paper
Why do they mount those toilet paper dispensers so low that you almost have to get on the floor to get any?
faster updating time⦠my computer takes forever and gets hotter than the sun while doing so
Maybe a way to make bullets smell or color the fingers. There would be exceptions of course and it must be non-alarming to animals. This would allow persons to know that recent bullet handling has happened and that there is the probability of a loaded weapon nearby.
Because of course people would never do anything like say, take their locked guns and ammo to a range, load them just before shooting them, check they are unloaded and then lock the ammo and guns safely up before leaving the range again. Maybe you should spend some time with one of the majority of safe and responsible firearms owners out there. Also there have been explosive detectors around for a long time.
then perhaps the gun ranges could have a special soap that washes the smell off quickly.
Load More Replies...In the USA (where restricting the right to bear arms is problematic), mandatory gun safety courses. Not to own a weapon, but to graduate high school.
Using nuclear energy to incinerate plastics and garbage instead of weaponry.
Why do these things close so quickly? Mine would be speed limiters for vehicles where a device is mandatory to measure the speed being driven at. There would be sensors on roads that relay the speed limit to the vehicle and this would mean that the vehicle cannot exceed the speed limit. If drivers took these off, the punishment should be a lifetime ban from driving.
