I kept a website open and moved on to another tab for 10 minutes. When I came back, the website was closed, even though I am the only person who has access to my device...
Once upon a time, a long time ago, in an abandoned house on a hill, there lived a being. It lurked in the shadows, and ate cobwebs and mice, and it was content for a time. And when people entered it's home, it was curious, and it followed back to their home. Once upon a time, not very long ago, in a house filled with laughter and joy, there lived a being. It hid in the closets and under the beds, and ate crumbs and loose socks, and it was content for a time. And when the people who lived in the house moved out, it stayed, and lurked in the shadows, and ate cobwebs and mice. Once upon a time, not long ago, in a house with new residents, there lived a being. It hid from the owners, and sat in the corners, and ate whatever it could, and it was not content, but it had a plan. And when it got the chance, it killed, and ran away from the house. Once upon a time, only a few years ago, in a house very close to the one you live in, there lived a being. It lurked in the basement, and ate spiders and dirt, and it was hungry for more. And when someone spent too long in the basement and was never found again? Well, the being was content, and moved on. Now, in your own house, there lives a being. It lurks in the shadows, and watches and waits. It eats insects and dust and crumbs, and when the moment is right it will strike. So, be cautious, and watch for a being that hides in the shadows, in closets, and basements, and underneath beds. It is sometimes lonely and sometimes bored, but mostly it longs for blood. And if it finds you, when it finds you, it will be content, and they will not find your corpse. Farewell, my friend, and find the being before it finds you.
