I would like to see some of your old pieces of tech that you were proud to show off at the time.

I joined the Columbia Records and Tapes Club around 1978. The little paper catalogue let you choose from records, tapes, 8 tracks, and reel to reel - they each had a code letter to use when ordering. I wish i still had some of those catalogues, new music promo from yesteryear

The watchmaker I took it to for service said that when this was made, the US made the best pocket watches in the world. You can pop the back off and see the gears spinning. After some long overdue TLC it keeps time within about a minute over 24 hrs.

No electronics. Pure mechanical. It’s amazing it’s possible. I do think they are too tough on the records though — the big needle with the weight applied.

I still have my Nintendo NES. Tetris was my favorite. Still have the power pad and track game. We never actually ran on the power pad, we would kneel and hit it with our fists.

That was my favorite with the way technology was back then. Didn't have to worry so much about it being in your pocket or dropping it as you do for phones now.
