Meh, fastbacks... they don't do it for me. The car I learned to drive was a 1965 mustang. Silver-blue coupe, that is SO a color, it's what the car paperwork said on it. My brother finally got mama's last mustang, the 1993 limited edition cobra that they made fewer than 200 of.

Looks like it IS dacha. Cuz take a look at the roofs of the houses behind his left shoulder...Very often you can see city surrounded by 1-family small houses. Some of them being converted to dacha(summer house) and in some of them people live.

Sorry for your loss but what makes him a hero?

    Community Member
8 years ago Created by potrace 1.15, written by Peter Selinger 2001-2017

I said MY hero. I wasn't going to reply, but decided to take the opportunity to say more about my Dad. He was a college graduate who wasn't drafted - he joined the Army by choice. He then went on to get his Master's degree and work as a mechanical engineer for more than 30 years. He had many more accomplishments, but the things that make him MY hero are that he taught me to swim, ride my bike, he read me bedtime stories and sang me songs. When my parents divorced, my Dad took custody of my brother and me. He cooked, cleaned and did yard work. He helped me with my math homework, taught me to balance a check book, drive a car and change a tire. He was a loyal, all-in, hands on Dad who showed us that he loved us through words and deeds. That's what makes him MY hero.

Hehe...yeah, he sported that James Dean look! But I guess he had a cause or two: after spending 7 years (from 13 to 20) in a sanitarium fighting tuberculosis, he had a yearning for freedom and the open road, and the urge to sketch everything and everyone in sight. He later wrote chronicles about his travels for a local newspaper back home and made his livelihood as an artist. Oh, and he met my mother...

He started out as a welder, later he has done almost every job in building a house. He was also a musician. In this picture he was dressed up for a fox hunt, where kids have to go around the neighborhood looking for dressed up people. Many kids just walked past him, and the local supermarket manager asked if he could walk a bit further from the shop because he scared the customers. Mind you, he was already over 50 in this photo.

Jennifer, when people vote up and down the picture changes place according to how many votes it has. The most popular picture is the one at the top. He's easy to recognise though.

Didn't wear one - my Leather Jacket had some plastic thing in it, but to me it just felt weird - As for the Hardtail, yes, you felt the bumps! Made you appreciate the roads (and look where you were going) - It was very low-geared - Maybe 70-or 80 tops - Miss my ol' Scoot... :'(

Where's his kidney belt? That thing ('hardtail') looks painful to ride without one.

This Is My Wonderful Dad Playing With Our Dog Samba. He Absolutely Loved This Dog. He Was A Really Cool Dad In The Fact He Was Always There For Us And Loved Us So Much. He Always Let Us Have Dogs Too And Taught Us The Importance Loving And Caring For Animals In General. Sadly He Died A Few Months After This Photo Was Taken And Samba Passed Away Too 3 Years Later. I Miss Them So Much But I'd Like To Think They're Together In Heaven And Playing Together Again.
