My Dad Being Infinitely Cooler Than I'll Ever Be (1980)
Bravo papa! I would only be able to pull the same stunt if my a*s was glued on the saddle.
Came Across This Photo Of My Dad In The 70's With His Mustang And I Had To Share It
I'll bet you this is one dad, who really, really wishes he still had that Mustang. And not just for old time's sake. ;D
Right dad always talks about his 65 Impala SS and 70 Nova...now I've got to call Mom and find the photo albums. P.s I'd drive that Mustang!
Load More Replies...I love mustangs!! This just makes me wish there was time travel just to drive that magnificent beast!!!!!!!
Meh, fastbacks... they don't do it for me. The car I learned to drive was a 1965 mustang. Silver-blue coupe, that is SO a color, it's what the car paperwork said on it. My brother finally got mama's last mustang, the 1993 limited edition cobra that they made fewer than 200 of.
That was my hairstyle this morning. Curly hair+humidity = universe is a mean girl.
The fro and the jorts though, LOL. Cool car though, I had a 65 Fastback.

Jeez, those muscles! I guess you need them to catch fish like the one he's holding, huh?
My Dad In 2014 On The Age Of 65 On His Trip To Mont Blanc.
this reminds me of my mom lol, she's 63 and goes hiking in ice and all that, she takes one beer can.
He's already so cool he probably doesn't feel the cold.

My Cool Soviet Dad In Early 80s
If it weren't for the apartment buildings in the background, I'd think he was working at his dacha. He'd be ready for a sauna later.
Looks like it IS dacha. Cuz take a look at the roofs of the houses behind his left shoulder...Very often you can see city surrounded by 1-family small houses. Some of them being converted to dacha(summer house) and in some of them people live.

In the US military, that's a great way to wind up in the middle of a 'Summary Court' , for doing something that bone headed. The very least he could expect would be an Article 15 if his CO felt sorry for him.
I'll find tons of pics just like this from every military since cameras were invented, even in the US armed forces, even today.

Thank you. He was so special.
Load More Replies...Thank you for sharing your hero with us! What an amazing legacy! Much respect!
I'm sorry for your loss Dani. He sounds like a hero to me. A present, loving, caring father.
I said MY hero. I wasn't going to reply, but decided to take the opportunity to say more about my Dad. He was a college graduate who wasn't drafted - he joined the Army by choice. He then went on to get his Master's degree and work as a mechanical engineer for more than 30 years. He had many more accomplishments, but the things that make him MY hero are that he taught me to swim, ride my bike, he read me bedtime stories and sang me songs. When my parents divorced, my Dad took custody of my brother and me. He cooked, cleaned and did yard work. He helped me with my math homework, taught me to balance a check book, drive a car and change a tire. He was a loyal, all-in, hands on Dad who showed us that he loved us through words and deeds. That's what makes him MY hero.

How Cool Was My Dad? The Beginning Of Paul's European Grand Tour On His BMW, 1960. His Note On Back Of Photo: "Children In The Little Fishing Town Of Puerto De La Cruz - Tenerife (Island) Turning Out For The Arrival Of The Motorcycle"
I'm glad you also feel that way - I have no idea who took it, but I think this photo is incredible. I've wondered about these people...
Load More Replies...Hehe...yeah, he sported that James Dean look! But I guess he had a cause or two: after spending 7 years (from 13 to 20) in a sanitarium fighting tuberculosis, he had a yearning for freedom and the open road, and the urge to sketch everything and everyone in sight. He later wrote chronicles about his travels for a local newspaper back home and made his livelihood as an artist. Oh, and he met my mother...

Not as glamorous as you might think... Take a look at that awful polyester suit that he has to wear next to those blazing tungsten lights. I wonder how many shirts he sweat through in a given day.

Often waiting months to develop film as this was taken when he was on deployment during Vietnam. I have been tasked with scanning in all of the photos he took during his 4 years in the United States Navy. So many fantastic shots from all over Asia and life living on the sea.

My Dad.
Very cool! Your Dad reminds me so much of my late Uncle John, my favorite Uncle. What is your Dad's profession, if you don't mind sharing?
He started out as a welder, later he has done almost every job in building a house. He was also a musician. In this picture he was dressed up for a fox hunt, where kids have to go around the neighborhood looking for dressed up people. Many kids just walked past him, and the local supermarket manager asked if he could walk a bit further from the shop because he scared the customers. Mind you, he was already over 50 in this photo.

Where's his kidney belt? That thing ('hardtail') looks painful to ride without one.

This Is My Wonderful Dad Playing With Our Dog Samba. He Absolutely Loved This Dog. He Was A Really Cool Dad In The Fact He Was Always There For Us And Loved Us So Much.
