Okay, so, I’m pretty biased as a snake person, but feeding live has perks, mainly being that they get the thrill of the chase, and the kill, it provides mental stimulus that no dead rat could give, it does have its cons, mainly being the mouse could bite and hurt the snake, but overall, feeding live, and frozen thawed are both pretty common in the snake world, personally I would prefer feeding frozen and thawed, but I’d be willing to go live if needed. What I’m saying is, it isn’t cruel, it’s arguably more natural for the snake, and it’s the circle of life. But, at the end of the day, the outcome for the mouse is the same.

He is my weirdest boy! He has so many interesting traits, I'm not sure if it's from being hairless but he is so cautious in comparison to his active brothers. I do love watching him clean his invisible fur lol

My neighbours guinea pig knew the sound of my car and when I was walking up the hill to the house he’d be squeaking to me. I loved that guinea pig so much more than they did. He never squeaked to any of them.

Aww, what a sweetie. Guinea pigs can learn to recognize their caretakers footsteps/sounds, especially if that caretaker feeds them. Did you feed him? If so that might be why! Guinea pigs do need to live in groups of two or more though, did he have any friends?

That is how both of mine died. Rats are beautiful little creatures, just so sad that they don't live very long, and most of the time it is because of tumors or masses. I had one tumor removed from Felix, but another just grew back in. They were brothers and passed within a month of each other

What are you feeding them? My go-to's are sweet potato, scrambled eggs, peas, corn, and carrots. They sometimes will eat peppers and always banana but only as a treat from the one I'm eating :)

I really love them, but i was not "allowed" by my petsitter (mother). "i would never pet sit them!". She was in love with my american staffordshire terrier but she's afraid of cute rodents. You can even feel the fear with my rabbit (who has no front teeth) so i guess the struggle is real. Thank you for the pictures of these beautiful rodents, they are cute and really smart. 20200927_1...47f48f.jpg

I'm not really a fan of rodents, not sure why. I would also never harm them, I find calling them "vermin" extremely offensive. When it has been necessary to remove a rodent from an unsuitable environment, (one where it could be injured or poisoned etc) I would always use a humane option; I can't stand the thought of using any kind of trap unless it's a humane one and the animal is given an opportunity to have a safer home.

My brother and I have had a variety of rodents in our lives. They're such cute little fluff balls!

I had a lovely little brown and white rat for just under 24 hours. My mother refused to let either of us into the house until he’d been rehomed. Why didn’t I stand up to her? Life’s so tough when you’re in your 20s and can’t afford a place of your own! Had a little Russian hamster called Gustav. He lived in the bedroom and was a little charmer. I got a call at work late one morning from my mum telling me the cats, all 7 of them had knocked over his home and the lid had fallen off. Shot off home expecting to find a chewed up hamster but there he was sitting by his upturned home nibbling away nonchalantly. The cats had made themselves scarce, wisely.
