Everyone is telling me I’m overreacting because of this. What do you guys think? Here’s the story:

Me and this girl (I’ll call her C) confessed that we liked each other when she spent the night. We kissed and planned to start dating/tell our friends. It seemed like everything was going to work out, and I was just excited.

Then C ghosted me for another girl. I tried to talk to her (as I saw her every day because of rehearsal) but she straight up ignored me. She ended up getting with the girl she ghosted me for.

They broke up a day later. She immediately tried to talk to me again, acting like nothing had happened and we were still together. I rolled my eyes at her when she attempted to talk to me and walked away.

She ran back to our group of friends crying. They all hated me because I’d made her cry and they didn’t let me explain myself. She acted like I was a villain because I’d made her feel so bad she cried.

She didn’t seem to care that she’d made ME cry when she’d ghosted me. She didn’t care that when she suddenly started ignoring me, I went on a downward spiral.

I told all my friends about what happened and only one of them are on my side. I actually don’t know if I’m the a**hole now.

So am I?

NTA all the way. That girl is the aßhole for straight up leaving you and tarnishing your reputation, and your "friends" are aßholes for not believing you

Seems as though she’s very manipulative and self centered and you should be grateful you dodged that bullet. People will always show you who they are if you give them the chance. It’s only a matter of time before your friends see her for who she is. I think the important question now is, do you want to be friends with people who are so easily manipulated into seeing you for something you’re not. Take this opportunity and evaluate everyone involved and decide if their opinions of you really matter and if they’re someone you want in YOUR friend group.
