Police Officer Distracts Little Girl After Father Dies In Tragic Car Accident
This tragic photo shows a heroic police officer from Brighton, Colorado, comforting a little girl at the scene of a car accident where her father was killed. 6 people, including 4 children, were thrown from an SUV at 9:30 a.m. on I-76, though only the father died. The oldest child was five years old and the youngest was an infant, and only the infant was in a car seat or wearing a seat-belt. Witnesses reported that the vehicle lost control when one of its rear tires blew-out.
73 percent of passengers wearing seat-belts who were involved in deadly crashes survived, according to a 2003 study. It’s estimated that seat-belts have saved 255,000 lives in the US since 1975, so keep your family safe! Buckle-up!

God Bless you, officer, you're the reason I treat every single officer that does their job with empathy and integrity the ultimate amount of respect.
Ignore the negative comments... I agree wholeheartedly with you. :)
Load More Replies...So tragic. What compassionate officer. These are the people that restore my faith in humanity.
"only the infant was in a car seat or wearing a seat-belt" This disgusts me.
while this is nice, i think it cheapens the word "heroic" to say that having a little empathy and human compassion toward a child is anything extraordinary. it sets the bar pretty low if picking up a distraught child is considered heroism.
Considering all of the bad press lately surrounding police officers, I don't mind a little hyperbole here.
Load More Replies...This is so sad & so avoidable too. Children especially should never be 'loose' in a car because we have to make their decisions for them so we have to make them good ones. It's become so automatic for me now to put a seat belt on that I wouldn't feel safe without one. And thank God for that kind police officer <3
He has a big heart knowing that he can comfort a little girl when a scene behind him could make him lose control of his emotions.
It shows that most officers really love their job protecting and caring for others. God bless all of you who care!!
