Project Hail Mary, by Andy Weir.

This is simply such a lovely and best book. Due to the way the story works, i can't really tell you anything the book's plot, as telling anything would spoil way too much.
I myself read it blind beyond the back-cover description, and trust me, i didn't regret anything and loved the book! Can recommend. Project Hail Mary is simply so good, mayhaps the best book i've ever read- and i've read many a good book.

4. Turtle Under Ice by Juleah del Rosario

Anxious People by Frederic Bachman. It's about a bank robber who unintentionally holds an appartment full of people hostage. All of the characters are really well written and interesting, and everything ties together nicely. Also, fair warning for anyone who'd like to read it, suicide plays a semi-large role in the book, and although it is written about respectfully, it could be upsetting or triggering for some.
