Harry Potter movies are known for having their fair share of ‘jump’ moments and dark imagery, but American digital artist Dylan Pierpont has taken it up more than a few notches by reimagining the famed films as straight-up horror shows, and he’s calling them Scary Potter.
With a poster for each chapter, Pierpont turns the original Harry Potter’s PG-13 scenery into a ominous, gruesome world inspired directly by some of the more sinister events that transpire throughout the epic saga. It’s all done in tribute, though, as Pierpont is clearly a fan himself, accompanying each portrait with a fitting quote from the book or movie it represents. To be honest, a live-action Scary Potter directed by James Wan or Guillermo Del Toro could be quite the hit!
Check out the spine-chilling ‘dark art’ series for yourself below, and just try not to shudder at the last one!

Having reread Harry Potter for the umpteenth time, I'm always looking for a new perspective. These are great!
They're really well done. Having said that, since I read the books in my 30's, my childhood hasn't been ruined. I know it's irrational, but I find that kind of headline (You'll never sleep again! You'll want to buy this house! You'll want to own a hamster! :p ) really annoying. You don't know me, Bored Panda! *shakes fist at internet*
It's not even a little irrational, I think most of us are really sick of those headlines.
Load More Replies...I agree with you on that Gilda. The artistic depiction of the "birth of Voldemort" shown here is eerily close to how I imagined it while reading the books.
