Teacher Spends 70 Hours Turning Boring Classroom Into Hogwarts, Makes Us Believe Magic Truly Exists
If your Hogwarts acceptance letter is still lost in the mail, go for the next best thing and transfer to Evergreen Middle School in Hillsboro, Oregon, where a seventh and eighth-grade teacher has transformed his classroom into a Harry Potter-themed wonderland – complete with Sorting Hat.
“As a kid I remember my biggest dream was to go to Hogwarts someday, but I knew that I could never truly go there,” Kyle Hubler told the Huffington Post. “When I became a teacher… I realized that I had the power to make my childhood wish come true.” After a mammoth 70 hours of work spread out over 5 weeks, the creative educator worked some serious magic on his space, seeing his opportunity after finding out that he would be moving classrooms for the new school year.
A long-term Harry Potter fan himself, Hubler incorporated his own collection of merchandise into the room and paid for the rest of the supplies out of his own pocket, since the series holds a very special place in his heart. “I love Harry Potter because of the impact it had on me as a kid. Being a kid can be tough sometimes… and reading the books was a way to escape that and feel like I did belong.”

Share on FacebookI wonder if he separates them into houses and gives/takes away points for extra credit. But the world today, some kid would probably cry about being in Hufflepuff and his parents would sue and wreck the whole thing.
Creating many memories for his students and probably envy from the many students that aren't in his class.
Super cool! But I would just get distracted during class because of all of the items around me.
What impresses me most is how the school was apparently perfectly fine with all of this. Don't get me wrong, I think it's pretty kicking rad, I'm just surprised that he was allowed to decorate a classroom in the first place. If I had done that, I'd probably get fired, since I don't technically own the classroom.
What a fantastic teacher! Teachers who go the extra mile for students should be given awards! I had a marvellous teacher in 6th Grade (in the Bahamas at the time but the school system was British based & he was British). Anyway, This guy (Mr Roach) was my homeroom teacher and introduced us to Tudor history by letting us make puppets of Henry VIII & his six wives , etc. Also, we got to build castles & knights, armour & swords (cardboard) etc It was really fun & very interesting, to the point I adore Tudor history to this day. Also, he read "The Hobbit" to us providing my introduction to Tolkien! I would go on to read "The Lord of The Rings" myself, and that too turned into a passion. I am so thankful I had this guy as a teacher, he opened my mind to a love of history and literature in a way that captured my imagination and really nurtured my love for learning new things. Thank you Mr Roach!
beautiful, I like everything - his pupils must be impressed and happy
What an amazing teacher!! The world needs more teachers willing to go the extra 70.
still, there is a small place for improvements - the chairs for pupils - are like from another movie
