“Greetings From..work”. An Italian Artist Makes You Think About The Restrictions To Travel Caused By Covid-19.
TokTok is an italian urban artist who works also as employee in a Hotel in Venice, a city notoriously and economically based on tourism.
With the spread of Covid-19, the possibility of travelling around the world, visiting real places, moving and meeting new people have been heavily compromised by the restrictions decided by each country. Clearly, these ones have significant conseguences for all the companies involved in tourism. Even the scenario expected in the next months strongly recommends just to stay at home or at work, be isolated as much as possible and to avoid any contacts and unnecessary travel.
So, from his workstation, starting from the image of a famous screensaver the artist decided to create some postcards (“greetings from work”) and left them in some souvenir shops, to underline a change towards a more and more increasing virtuality and isolation in our lives.
