I Capture Grandparents With Their Grandkids Because No One Ever Photographed Me With Mine (27 Pics)
When I look back at all my family photo albums, there is not a single image I find with my grandparents. There are images with mom, dad, my brother... even with my dog and a stray cat whom we had adopted... but seriously none with my grandpa and grandma. And those were the two people I loved the most... I still do, even after they are long gone.
And so, I have sworn that whichever part of the world I will travel to now... I will make sure to photograph a grandparent or great grandparent with their grandchild... for how often really do we get our grandparents into the frame?!
And not only has this project helped me rebuild memories of my childhood in a way... meeting and interacting with all the elderlies has really taught me so much about life.
I hope you like some of these images that I share here.

These photographs are exceptional and very heartwarming! Well done. ♥
All of these photos are beautiful ... but this one brought a few tears when I saw that cat that looked just like my McGee (now buried under my holly tree).
My grandfather was the only one that truly made me feel loved. His deep blue eyes carved so into my heart that i s one of my most treasured memories that i could ever have. In a country where blue eyes are just a dream, they became my adoration.
This is my favorite, but I love all these photos. The lighting in these is perfect. It gives a magical, ethereal look to the scenes. They almost look like paintings
I wonder if they are great-grandparents or just got kids at high age. All seems so old, most of the grandparents to toddlers I see is in their 50s or so.
It's certainly not as uncommon as it may seem, my parents had me at a lot later age (I'm 17, mom is 51) and my living grandparent is in his mid 80's.
Load More Replies...This is beautiful!! Perhaps a great grandma. Lifes' beginnings and near endings. Love this.....
I am a grandmother of 6 and I am only 50ish. I do not look like this.. I hope there are better pictures representing nanas like me.
Agree. These have to be Great-Grandies, I had my daughter at 39 and even my folks at late 60s arent this old!

Pure joy is is seen on the girls face, she is with her loving grandpa, share the love, great shot !!!
I LOVE this one. There is so much love and communication. The light and focus. Incredible.
This is the symbol for "love" in a game I played with my children. <3
At first I looked at the picture and thought, Wait what? Why is the baby’s legs so weird??? Then I looked again 😂
I noticed that all these grandparents look as though the did not have an easy life.
I hope she lives long enough to pass on the skills!

I love how the kittens are thrown in to add to the sweetness of the photo
When the baby girl has a nap, the kitten will snuggle with her !!!
You can tell, baby is listening, as Grandma talks, I love this !!!
I love this picture with the Grandma wearing knee high hose, the precious granddaughter, and the kitten.
Some of these Grandpas would make perfect Santas! I don't think the cat appreciates the competition!
Oh my lord I remember those days. Hated it then, remember the moments fondly now.

Hahahaha I know this all too well! My grandmother was always trying to cut my nails though ! I hated it so much !!
These two are my favourite of all your subjects. He looks like every grandpa should!
The woman in this photo resembles my Mother. Enough so that can't seem to stop staring. I miss her so much. Thank you for the gift of this photo.
Maybe the pup is the baby, with it's grandma? Not all babies has 2 legs, some have 4 legs <3
Load More Replies...I love these pictures it's giving me the "LOVE & CARE" feeling so much. Thank you for sharing all these memories. I myself have 4 grandsons from my elder son and elder daughter. They are 12, 11, 10 and 10and 6 months old.
She understands the importance of knowing her grandmother. The knowing of ancestors is for the young. The old have so much to give.
As a great grandma, I am not in many pictures, as I am the one with the camera, always !!!
Give the camera to others. The young ones need to have their picture with you. It is important for the young. The old have their time for memories. Now the young need to build those memories.
Load More Replies...Did everyone in this project have kids in their 40-s and then the kids was in their 40-s to have babies? All grandparents look like they are about 80. Of course it can happen, but looks more like great grandparents.
For some reason you can't seem to accept that it's the way it is. Not all of these people might have started having kids in their 40s. They might be the last born and I know many people who've had a kid or two in their 40s. Plus there are people who struggle for decades to have kids and end up having them much later. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter.

As my great grandson, was about one and a half, I took him outside often, wanted him to start learning about nature, I gave him a tiny flower to hold, told him it was a pretty flower, a leaf , or a pebble, it was such a joy, I was Blesses !!!
What a wonderful picture. The grandmother is protecting the little girl
Dear lord, "I'ld give what ever life is left in me to this child if it would make her life safer."
As we get older, we cherish the times when we can just sit with a baby in our arms.
I do wish the photo editing hadn't smoothed out Grandma's hair into a soft blur and added lip gloss to the baby. That aside, it's a sweet picture.
Same... I'd love to see a more raw edit.. it distracts me

I remember my grandmother for always giving me the most wet kisses I used to always hate it but know that she has passed i wish I hadn't turned my cheek
The pictures are really nice but a bit over-done, a little less afterwork would still keep them nice but more natural.
I would love to see some of these without the smoothed over look or the lip gloss. Such sweet moments. But distracts me for some reason
Load More Replies...Should be rated higher! There is endless wonder and surprise, understanding and loving adoration between older people and babies and children... we should all be so patient and kind with each other
When my daughter was maybe 4 yrs. old; we were visiting my husband's parents and she gently patted my mother-in-law's cheek and told her not to "worry about those 'ruffles' on her cheeks". She learned how to knit and crochet; They sat together and made things while watching soaps on T.V.
Load More Replies...Absolutely beautiful portraits! The lighting is just right on all of them.
Yes Brenda I agree, each one is truly excellent, this is one of my very favorite BP posts, I want to look, again, and again !!!
Load More Replies...These are just lovely. It would be cool to have them side by side with pictures of the grandparents as parents, maybe even recreating some of the older pictures as a generational thing, and creating a new tradition.
I feel these elders are great or great, great Grandparents. Our family of five generations age baby, 25, 52, 70, 90 when baby was born. Such a Joy to have the five generations together!
Exactly what I was thinking. I was a grandmother at 40.
Load More Replies...These are beautiful. I only wish I could have had a moment like this with my grandmother as well.
A wonderful post, great idea, some of the photos would be fabulous framed !!!
Incredible photos. Absolutely a worthwhile venture capturing the interaction between the grand parents and the children. I must admit as a person in my late 40's that there is a tinge of envy in me because none of this was done when i was a child.
I just love how they’re all captured with love, light and gentleness with an added touch of kittens, cats, and doggies.
Stunning. I hope more people do this so they too capture loved ones with grand kids and great grand kids...so important for the next generation and family history.....beautiful work:)
