Little Planets? What are they? You can create little virtual planets using image editor, such Photoshop. First of all, you need a panorama picture. I've always have been interested in photography, and panoramic images. I've made few panorama images in real life, and then I had this idea, to try to do panoramas virtually, using Google Earth. Is that even possible?

Google Earth is virtual globe, which allows you to observe our beautiful blue planet. Google Earth also includes 3D option, using satellite imagery and geomaps Google Earth is able to build three-dimensional buildings and terrains. How to?

1. First, I had to find some cool and interesting locations. I navigated randomly around big cities, and some famous sightseeing places. After finding good location, I took screenshots.Using this 3D option, I took around 30-40 screenshots with Fraps - Screen Capture Software.

2. Using this 3D option, I took around 30-40 screenshots with Fraps - Screen Capture Software.

3. After that I stitch images together with PTGui Panorama Software. PTGui allows you to create panoramas fast and easy. PTGui includes stereographic option, which allows you to create Little Planets from panorama photos.Last step is to fix and enhance images with Photoshop.

4. Last step is to fix and enhance images with Photoshop.

At first, my images were full of gliches and visual problems. They were boring and colourless. Fixing them with Photoshop gives them some colors and variations. Creating one photo, takes around 30-60 minutes of my time. I'm planning to continue creating images like this, every time I find new interesting location. Here are few beautiful globe images that I have created over time.

Thanks to Google Earth - Map data: Google, DigitalGlobe.
