#1 shows the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, not the UK and Northern Ireland, since it's a part of it.

Apatheist Account2, exactly. It would have been appropriate to list NI if Scotland, England and Wales were also listed. However, the sovereign nations shown in the image should have been listed as Ireland (the Republic of Ireland/Eire) and the UK of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
