I'd love to see the statistics on how many people got each question right. Quarks were barely covered at A-Level (ages 17-18) when I went to school.
I'm older than the theory of quarks, nevermind their proof. The tectonic plate theory wasn't accepted, there was no measles vaccine, and the Big Bang theory wasn't widely accepted. Things have changed a bit since then.

Whoo! 🤘 (guess my favourite subject - if it was a rainy weekend, sometimes I'd break into the science lab, the teacher used to be concerned until she found me curled up in the corner working my way through my second textbook of the day 😂)
The DNA question was nasty, though, given that in one they simply swapped an 'e' for an 'i', so you had to remember not only the answer, but how to spell it (and if you didn't know or remember, having two nearly identical answers meant you could fifty-fifty it as it was going to be one of 'em).
Load More Replies...I'm pretty happy with 19, given I haven't studied sciences since I left school in the mid 1980s
Quarks are the subatomic particles that are the building blocks of protons, neutrons, and electrons (among other particles). There are six different types of quarks, and they have odd-sounding names: up, down, top, bottom, strange, and charm. The reasons for the names are pretty esoteric.
