I switched to a Kindle 9 years ago, as much as I love my books I got tired of hauling boxes of them every time I moved, and if I was to physically have all of the books on my Kindle, the entire house would be nothing but bookshelves lol. I DO keep my favorites though, even if I have a digital copy.

Let me guess... he works 12 hours a day at a job that stresses him out to earn enough to sustain the quality of life they had before she left the workforce, but she, who has chosen her career path based on her personal fulfilment, wanting a little bit of work and a little bit of kids, to pick and choose as she desires, isn't actually holding up her half of the agreement... the agreement he had no say about in the first place. This is a scenario I've heard 100 times. Men sacrifice their health and their relationships with their kids to facilitate the fulfilment-based lifestyle she wants and expects to be entitled to, while he's just a workhorse and any fulfilment is frowned upon as being at her expense. She expects him to fill the gap, as well as support whatever arbitrary choice she makes, while he is not allowed to expect anything, least of all the most mundane, fundamentals, like keeping things at home from going off the rails. And then bleats about the mythical gender "pay gap."

Me mom is a Marie kundo and tries to fix our lives and save her grandkids from their slobby trailer park future by decluttering and cleaning their toys- which means giving them away- first kid able to speak declared war and banned grandma to the basement where she happily reajusts every two weeks.

Everything on my bookshelves I have read, reread, plan to read, hope my kids will read, or they're reference books. We have a bunch of books and I'm always on the look out for more! Right now I tend to buy digital for space and portability, but I do love curling up with a good book!

Women may have thicker skin for stuff like this than men do due to the unfortunate fact of having to deal with as much sexism as they do in our society. It is all too common for men to make misogynistic jokes at the expense of women, and to respond to their appropriate objections by dismissing them in emotional terms (“fragile,” “crying,” etc.). Fortunately, an awareness and rejection of such sexist behavior towards women is on the rise. Unfortunately, so also seems to be the notion that recognizing sexist behavior directed at women makes it ok (or even helpful!) to be sexist towards men. Bless your heart, emma whatsapp. You are not alone. I know what you're going through. Sometimes you feel it will never end. No matter how much effort it takes please get up, take a nice long shower, wash your hair and brush your teeth. If that's all you can do today, congratulate yourself. Taking baby steps is ok. I know how heavy your arms can feel reaching up to wash your hair. And seriously, I HIGHLY recommend getting a kitty cat. If you feel it's too much to clean the litter box get the disposable ones. Can you tell I completely understand? I wish you so much luck. I hope you are feeling some love and kindness coming to you through the interwebs. We're ALL here for you! Oooooh! I deliberately get rid of pajamas and casual clothes once they get old, stained or worn. I buy T-shirts that are soft and comfortable, many with uplifting phrases, so that when I'm just "in my pajamas" I'm in clothes that are clean, motivating and fit well.

I really don't like this way of folding shirts and pants, it would be harder for me to keep everything tidy on the shelf. I tried it for my socks and underwear though and I do think it's better than how I stored them before.

I still don't understand why people are so offended by the idea that maybe they should get rid of stuff they don't need and will never use. I also saw a clip where she told someone who didn't like the kitchen utensils they had, but had no money to replace them to try to learn to appreciate them, because of their usefulness. So it doesn't seem to me that she is saying "it either sparks joy or goes in the trash". Not accumulating useless c**p that will sit forever in storage seems like good advice to me and I'm one of those people that tend to collect lots of useless stuff.

I joke about the book thing, but in all honesty, I started watching organizing videos about 5 years ago and it was a relief to realize that I was not less of a book lover if I donated books that I was never going to read again. Rationally I knew that, but psychologically I needed to give myself permission to say "I'm finished with this". And not just about books, but also the little knick knacks and things that I have been gifted but had no use for. Now to get my M-I-L to stop bringing me stuff.

I found and bought the manga version last year before seeing the regular book version. It's kinda like taking the sneaky back way, because it fleshes out her concepts via interactions with a fictional client. It's somewhat canned, but a gentler approach for those who need it.
