There is a sign on a door leading out to the back garden in the building where I live that reads, "This door is alarmed from 9:00 p.m to 7:00 a.m.. " They don't, of course, explain why it's never alarmed in the morning or afternoon... ;-)

My locality has recently sprouted several signs that read "diversion for over weight vehicles". Damn it, 'overweight' is 1 word! I might have to go round with an indelible marker and add hyphens. That'd be an improvement.
